Today, we celebrate the 116th anniversary of the U.S. Army Reserve, founded on April 23, 1908, as the Army Medical Reserve Corps . Over the decades, it would evolve into a vital component of our nation's defense as we know today, capable of responding to emergencies and conflicts around the globe. The Army Reserve has grown in size to nearly 190,000 soldiers and 11,000 civilians, supporting not only combat operations but also humanitarian missions and peacekeeping efforts. As we honor this milestone, we reflect on the profound impact and the sacrifices of the countless reservists who have served and continue to serve, safeguarding our freedoms and upholding our values. Does The VA Cover Study Abroad?
The VA has updated its rules for using education benefits for overseas classes. The VA won't pay educational benefits for "Exchange Student" Study Abroad programs, affecting most of AU's overseas opportunities set up this way.
Restrictions on VA Benefits.
For now, students aiming to use VA benefits for classes abroad face fewer choices. However, one available option is Instructor-Led Courses, where students study in a foreign location traveling with an AU instructor, completing their courses there, back on campus, or online.

The Medal of Honor stands as the pinnacle of military recognition in the United States, symbolizing the highest degree of valor and sacrifice in service to the nation. Established during the Civil War, on July 12, 1862, by President Abraham Lincoln, the Medal of Honor was first awarded to recognize gallantry beyond the call of duty in the face of enemy forces. Since its inception, it has been awarded to service members across all branches of the U.S. military for their extraordinary acts of heroism and sacrifice. The Medal not only represents the gratitude of the nation but also embodies the principles of courage, integrity, and commitment. Each recipient's story is a unique testament to the indomitable spirit of the American servicemember, serving as a beacon of inspiration for future generations. The Medal of Honor transcends the individual, reflecting the enduring values and ideals that define the United States of America.
Reminder!
All Full-time, residential students are responsible for the cost of the Metro U-pass. The Metro U-Pass is not covered under VA benefits.
