Use the many resources we have for you. Career Shift, Firsthand/Vault and Goinglobal are available through Handshake. Get the answers to these questions: What is their financial health? What are their plans for the future? Who are their competitors? Where are they located? Don't forget the company's website is a good source of information too.
Having an understanding of employers can help you determine if their positions are aligned with your career goals, and enable you to tailor your application materials. Also, learn how to set yourself apart from other candidates during an interview.
Your current and former colleagues are important members of your network! Remember that networking is reciprocal! When you offer something, your hand is open to receive.
Start the new year off by communicating with your network. They should know your school year, your major and if you are seeking an employment or internship opportunity. Practice your networking skills!
Mentoring is a gift for both the recipient and the giver. Its recriprocal nature provides a dynamic, life-changing journey of endless possibilities.
Candidates who have an impactful LinkedIn profile, along with being in industry-specific groups, are something we look for. Using inappropriate language is a definite red flag!
LinkedIn has become an important tool to create and maintain connections! It is also a way for you to promote who you are and what you can offer. Recruiters use LinkedIn to find and hire qualified candidates. You should revisit each area of your LinkedIn profile and use Vmock/Aspire to get individualized AI-powered feedback. Use the current buzzwords on your resume! Read the job descriptions to ensure you have the skills and experience they are looking for.

Take a deep breath and think of everything you've accomplished over the last few months. Does your resume reflect your growth? Will an employer determine your fit for the job if they view your resume? Are you using all of the resources available to you, including coaching appointments, resume templates and Vmock? Include your professors when you conduct informational interviews. They can offer unique perspectives and may be willing to share contacts with you.

Site visits, arranged by the Office of Career Engagement, allow employer hosts to share their experiences with engaged students in a real-world setting.
