SPOTLIGHTS 05/16/2016

Erin Guth, one of our MS in Physiology students, is being featured on GU Biomedical Graduate Education's page today - be sure to check it out!

SPOTLIGHT #26
Name: Erin Guth
Program: MS Physiology
Academic Year: 2015-16
Hometown: Lexington, Ohio

Why did you choose Georgetown University?: Because Georgetown chose me! I applied to Georgetown because I was interested in applying to medical school, but had been out of school for a few years. The MS Physiology and Biophysics program seemed perfect for my future goals and myself. I am currently applying to medical schools for Fall 2017 admission!

What is the best thing about your program so far?: This sounds cheesy, but I love being surrounded by so many passionate individuals whether they are professors and peers. There is a tremendous emphasis on public health and using your talents and education to generously serve others. I had never experienced this in an academic setting before and was truly blown away at how genuine and passionate students and professors were about serving others.
Another was when one of my peers, and now a really good friend, had a precious baby boy here at Georgetown during our program. That was pretty incredible.

Aside from necessities, what one thing could you not go a day without?: Coffee and chocolate peanut butter cups, especially from Trader Joe’s. I eat a chocolate peanut butter cup every morning, just for waking up, and then start my coffee. I’m not sure I would wake up in the mornings if I didn’t have chocolate and coffee to look forward to!
