🌟 STEM4US! Fireside Chat at Kamp Kappa 2.0: Power of AI to Stop Youth Violence! 🌟

Another amazing experience engaging boys 11-18 at Kamp Kappa. For our campfire session this year, we challenged the boys to think of ways AI could be used to improve their lives and those around them. We also shared the risks of AI and the importance of using this technology with compassion for others. 🔥 The discussions were deep, the learning was impactful, and the bonds formed were unforgettable.

For the second year in a row, we partnered with the Hyattsville/Landover (MD) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. It was heartening to see the boys engage, ask questions, and actively participate in all the activities.

We salute the mentors and parents who made this possible. Together, we are making a difference one campfire at a time. 🏕️💡

Stay tuned for more updates and join us in our mission to inspire the next generation of leaders! 💪🏾

Father’s Day Reflection, From Boys to Men: 35 years ago a trio of friends graduated from Highland Park Community High School. The teens were athletes, lettermen in multiple sports, captains of championship swimming team and scholars. And all had another bond—-all three had lost their mothers before they turned 18. Thus, the three mostly looked to their fathers as role models and mentors. After graduation all three embarked upon different academic and career paths. One set out to be an astronaut and left Detroit for the Air Force Academy in Colorado. Another had his eyes set on automotive engineering and got a scholarship to the University of Michigan. And the third embarked on studies in media arts and HR at Oakland University. Over time, the trio stayed connected. Joined the same fraternity. And continued to support each other. Today, the aspiring astronaut is a lawyer, STEM advocate and tech exec. The Automotive Engineer is a Pharmacist. And the HR student is a HR exec and boat company operator. All have beautiful children and remain committed to making sure that young men from tough background like them have the mentoring and exposure needed to overcome. On this Fathers Day I salute these men, and . May the Almighty guide us all to straight path so we can spend eternity enjoying each other’s company along the golden shores.
