On this day of remembrance, we honor the bravery and sacrifice of those who responded to the events of September 11, 2001.

For Jienelle Herndon, that day ignited a sense of duty that led her to enlist in the Air Force. Her journey from military service to civilian life, supported by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation's Hiring Our Heroes and programs like the Post-9/11 GI Bill, exemplifies the resilience and dedication of those who selflessly answered the call to serve our nation after the harrowing events on 9/11. Today, as a health insurance specialist, Herndon continues to make a difference in the civilian workforce.

As we reflect on the events of 9/11 and honor those who chose to serve in its aftermath, it’s crucial to recognize that supporting veterans as they transition is about more than just fulfilling our duty to those who have served—it’s about ensuring the ongoing strength and resilience of our nation.

We kicked off day two of the 2024 Global Aerospace Summit with an engaging discussion between Senator Mark Kelly (D-AZ) and Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND).
