Hello Everyone, we haven’t spoke much but have we told you we doing MBSYEP the year and for the next four years …??? Too excited to revisit our roots of how we started…. Thank you ! Now we know it’s early and we just started but we already have a success story for yall! Meet one of our 22-24 year olds whom is a college graduate in sound engineering! We’ve just landed him an employment opportunity with Sound 22 as a musical engineer! We couldn’t be more excited for this to be our first placement! There will be more but he is our first! He is a new testament of how our Clinical Employment services work! We get’em up out here and right in their career field where they are suppose to be.

We welcome James Thomson who is a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor. James has experience working in both inpatient and outpatient treatment settings and correctional institutions. James has worked with children, young, middle and elderly aged adults from a diverse set of backgrounds. James has been apart of many individuals’ stories of building a beautiful life. It is his belief that everyone has the ability to be a working member of society, and that ability can be actualized when one has proper support.

James has a collaborative and trauma informed approach that looks to work with the strengths of the individual. It is his beliefs to consider an individual’s context to inform which evidence based therapeutic approach to use. James has a Masters of Art in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and years of experience working with individuals with mental health disorders including substance use disorders, to support them in creating a future they want for themselves. James previously worked as a Hospice Chaplian and as a Mental Health Professional in a Maximum Security Correctional Institution, and draws on these experiences for insight into the human condition. He often uses motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques, and Socratic questions in conjunction with clinically supported techniques suitable for the context.

James joined Time For Change (TFC) out of his passion and commitment to partnering with others to cultivate a stronger community through individual empowerment. He whole heartedly believes in the mission of, “bringing about change in the community, by breaking barriers in employment for individuals who are disabled and vulnerable to disabilities”.

Blessed and thankful for what God and Troy has bestowed upon me. 💪🏽🖤 46 graduates this past fiscal year… everything was free for them and paid for by DC Work Investment Council. I changed 46 lives y’all… in the same same year so much in me and near me has changed. I have made it thru a storm of spiritual warfare that only the closets to me will ever understand. I’m thankful to my true friendships the checks on me, the follow thru with giving me their ear. Words don’t work for the gratitude I have. With all the love in my heart thank you and to my followers… we are seeing the crime and the setback our community is having right now. Be a part of the change and donate. I can’t do this alone. I have interested EMT students with all the equipment and no funding for them to go to school. Our mission to use our services to eradicate crime and homelessness is continued…. However 2023 has done it! We are facing 227 homicides and counting bc of this we are now more than ever focused on our mission.
