Thank you for all of your donations!! We will be delivering 1,535 items split between multiple NICUs tomorrow! It’s so exciting to know so many babies are being blessed with new and gently used clothing while they battle so much in the NICU.

We are always accepting donations of clothing or financial donations used solely to purchase and deliver clothing to NICUs in Iowa and Missouri. Thank you for your support!

The one and only Jacob, who is the reason behind this nonprofit, has been keeping us all busy and today graduated from preschool! To anyone still in the trenches of the NICU, my heart goes out to you. Things were so rough in the NICU that we could hardly allow ourselves to dream of a world where we brought our sweet boy home but as these tiny mighty warriors do…he proved his strength! We are so thankful for each day with our miracle baby and pray this gives you hope as you fight through the battles.

Confessions of a NICU Mom: I lied to you

When I told you my baby was "super sick," I lied to you. He was on the verge of death.

When I told you I was okay, I lied to you. I was anything and everything except okay.

When I told you we didn't need help, I lied to you. Our list of needs were so so very long.

I lied to you because I couldn't handle the truth.

Speaking the truth outloud somehow made it more real and my reality was already too much to bear.

Speaking the truth required emotional capacity when I had none left to give.

Speaking the truth would change the way you looked at me and I couldn't handle one more of "those" looks.

I lied, not to protect you but to protect me.

NICU babies are the mightiest of warriors!

Scary numbers that no parent ever wants to know. Jacob was a 24 weeker and was several months old before any doctor thought he had a chance at surviving. These little ones are overcomers!

This is based on averages, other health issues can most certainly make these numbers lower. My 31 week twins for example were given a 3% likelihood of survival, simply based on complications.

This is why it’s so important not to expose preemies to illness. It’s only helpful to build their immune system once their lungs are developed enough to handle being sick.
