WELS Mission for the Deaf & Hard of Hearing
"Faith comes from hearing the message..." (Romans 10:17)
The WELS Mission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing seeks to help congregations share the gospel of Jesus Christ with members of WELS and others who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Week after week we gather as God's people to be refreshed by his grace and to worship him. Due to a power outage on Sunday, we are streaming the service on Monday night instead.

Did you know there are over 3,000 teachers in WELS schools guiding students in the study of God's word, building Christian character, helping each child work to the best of their God-given abilities, developing partnerships between home, school, and church, and encouraging students to share their faith at home and in their communities? Praise God and thank you teachers!
Share how you are celebrating your teachers this week!
Check out this article in the May edition of Forward in Christ, which is about our new online dictionary, Gospel Hands!
Gospel Hands: Proclaiming Jesus to those with hearing loss Verna Weigand never envisioned working as a sign language interpreter. But then she married her husband, Dean, whose younger brother was deaf from birth. “I wanted to be able to communicate with him,” remembers Weigand. That desire led Weigand to take sign language classes. She quickly realized ...

Gospel Hands, an online religious sign language video dictionary, is now available. It is intended for both deaf and hearing to help share the gospel. This process has been a 3-year project developed by the Mission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (MDHH) committee of the Wisconsin Lutheran Evangelical Synod.
We have updated our formerly printed dictionary, “Sign to the Lord a new song” to an online dictionary with videos that are more effectively understood and shared. Gospel Hands will grow to include many of the Creed and common prayers used in Christian services.
The site will also have links to other services MDHH is supporting such as interpreted sermons and a monthly deaf-only Bible study. Please visit https://gospelhands.net/ for more information.
