Waukesha Zombie Walk
We will shamble again in 2024!
Any thoughts?
Zombie Walk Rule 1
Besides setting a place and a date for this public event, and inviting you to dress up like zombies and wander around in public...we have no responsibility for who shows up, how they act, or the other 1,000,000 things that could go wrong each-and-every-time you go out in public. Like any other stroll down a sidewalk, things can happen. This is a completely open and voluntary event, and we cannot be held responsible if you get hurt, arrested, or otherwise inconvenienced. Whatever care you take when you normally go out in public, you should also take the day of the Waukesha Zombie Walk.
Zombie Walk Rule 2
PARTICIPATE AT YOUR OWN RISK!
Zombie Walk Rule 3
YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR OWN ACTIONS, NOT ME OR ANYONE ELSE!
No REAL eating of participants or onlookers brains, limbs or guts. Please do not act out of order and cause our walk to be canceled. If law enforcement stops us and requests that we shut it down, the Walk must be shut down immediately.
Zombie Walk Rule 4
NEVER, EVER TOUCH, BOTHER OR 'SCARE' ANYONE DURING THE WALK.
Those types of actions can be considered harassment [Harassment is defined as "a course of conduct directed at a specific person that causes substantial emotional stress in such a person and serves no legitimate purpose".] or even assault [Assault: A crime that occurs when one person tries to physically harm another in a way that makes the person under attack feel immediately threatened. Actual physical contact is not necessary; threatening gestures that would alarm any reasonable person can constitute an assault.]. If you act like you are going to attack someone, technically, that is assault or harassment so, DO NOT suddenly lunge, scare or pretend to attack a stranger. This is the general public you are dealing with and NOT a haunted house attraction that people paid to be scared at! You have no idea if the person you try to scare is a money-hungry attorney! The Walk is PERFORMANCE ART and you simply must look and walk like a brain-dead zombie (without the actions of actually attacking anyone to eat their brains!).
Zombie Walk Rule 5
NO LITTERING, DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY, OR ANY OTHER ILLEGAL ACTIVITY.
Pretend Downtown Waukesha is your own neighborhood (cause it's mine) and show the utmost respect. This is something we would like to do for many years and we don't want to ruin it. Remember, the media will be watching us (along with the Waukesha Police) and this event could get news coverage. Let's put on a good show. So don't dribble your guts and flesh and brains (fake blood) all over. Please do not attempt to push your way into any business if you are not welcome.
Zombie Walk Rule 6
PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING!
Do not touch cars, buildings, windows, store fronts, etc. during the walk! Please stay in character at all times, BUT KEEP YOUR HANDS TO YOURSELF.
Zombie Walk Rule 7
WALK LIKE A ZOMBIE. The Zombie Walk is not a speed-walking event. Zombies lurch, crawl, limp, slither, etc. Imagine more of a Romero zombie, not a new-fangled "running" zombies (I love those too). Zombies DO NOT smoke. Or talk on cell phones. They may, however, roller skate, walk their dogs, take pictures, and moan.
*When crossing in the crosswalks you may break character to safely make it across the street while the walk signal is lit, DO NOT walk when the signal says to wait. We must follow pedestrian rules.
ZOMBIE WALK RULE 8
PLEASE DO NOT SHOW UP DRUNK OR ON AN ILLEGAL SUBSTANCE.
If you plan on drinking before coming to the walk, please do not even bother attending the event. You will be asked to leave if you show up drunk! NO DRUGS. None. Forget it.

ZOMBIE WALK RULE 9
THIS IS AN ALL AGES WALK, SO PLEASE KEEP THE LANGUAGE KID FRIENDLY!
If you are 17 years of age or younger... you MUST HAVE someone 18 years old or older present with you, THIS IS NOT a babysitting service!
ZOMBIE WALK RULE 10
BE CREATIVE
Remember zombie attire and make-up is required to participate. So when channeling your inner zombie try and think outside the box. If you have your own little zombie hoard (group of friends/family) make it a themed hoard. So let's see that creativity!!
*For those who need help with the make-up part of becoming a zombie we will have a make-up artist, Andrea of Brook Street Beauty Bar. Make-up will be $15 (a portion of the proceeds will go towards our charities) for 10-15 mins with Andrea.
Please everyone welcome Andrea of Brook Street Beauty Bar as our 2023 featured make-up artist!
* This post was supposed to post almost 2 week ago, I don't know what happened, that's what I get for trusting the scheduled posts.
We will be using the route from 2017 again for 2023.
We will be using the route from 2017 again.
Calling all FX make-up artists. We are looking for artists to do make-up during basecamp again this year on October 28th. Please send us a message if you are interested. Thank you.
Looking for "lead" zombies. Wanting a few individuals/groups to be in front of the walk to lead everyone thru to route, also mid mob and stragglers to bring up the back of the walk so no one is getting lost and everyone is following sidewalk/crosswalk rules.
We shall shamble again October 28,2023!!
