Mac is a 4 year old, 22lb, super friendly, playful guy looking for an active family. He loves hiking, swimming, tug-o-war, fetch and soccer. He loves people and enjoys the chance to be pet by strangers - though he'll need any kids to be 8+ since he can be mouthy and jumps.

Mac is good around other dogs and currently lives with two. He hasn’t been spotted physically playing with another dog- he prefers his toys and really wants his people to play too. So, other dogs or being an only dog is fine. No cats - his prior home reported he's not good with them.

Mac loves to play and can be vocal when playing. After getting his exercise Mac is very cuddly and calm. He can keep himself entertained too! Mac is good being left alone either in a crate or behind a gate and is used to being left for 4.5 hours at a time. He is housebroken.

Mac is healthy, neutered, and up to date on vaccines, and his adoption fee is $400. Please see www.wisconsinbostonterrierrescue.com for more information on the adoption process and a link to the application form, and please email [email protected] with any questions.

Are you looking for a forever dog that generally lays around, but loves to be outside and go for walks? Well, my name is Pumpkin, and I'm the dog for you, if you can be patient. My vet says give me two weeks dragging a leash in your home without insisting on petting if I’m feeling shy. By then, if you are patient, I will be your constant companion, and will let you scratch me under the chin. They say I’m a bit more like a finicky cat needing extra adjustment time. Speaking of cats, I LOVE them! You’ll see in my pictures that I did great meeting one while my foster mom was on vacation. I also love dogs, but may need a bit of time to figure out how to fit in a group. I do also need a fenced yard, and no kids under 12 in my new home please.

I'd LOVE to be your new dog! I have had a lot of adjustments; right after I was rescued from life as a puppy mill mama, I had a surprise litter, and then was very shy with people after weaning the pups and being spayed – but now I’m adjusting to life outside a cage. I'm 8 years old, but look and act 4, and weigh 20lbs. I LOVE going outside, going on walks and eating treats. I'm now continuing my learning how to play with my foster dog brother. Sometimes I do tug of war with him – my foster mom got a cute picture of that too!

That dragging a leash thing? It helps me get comfortable with a new person walking and caring for me, until I’m ready to be touched and let them take a leash on and off. I used to take an anti-anxiety pill, but don't need that any more. I have also learned to stay in a dog kennel when my person is not around, but I am house trained and only have accidents initially when adjusting to a new place. I am also very good with being with another dog or dogs (1-3 others) and alone by myself in the house out and about. I love to sleep on the couch if you want.

I've learned to chew bones but I really like them, so it’s best I have my own space for that – I won’t want to share. I eat fast, so space there is good too, or slowing down the process of how quickly I can get at the food. I love getting food from a ball that releases the food slowly. I get excited when you get home and will copy other dogs in barking or whining. I'm also a good alarm if anyone comes up to the house, but I do stop when asked to. Oh, I'm also up to date with my shots, heartworm pills, and I am spayed.

If you think that you have the patience for me, are willing to wait to be touched, held and hugged, I will be a good match, especially if you have a dog and/or cat that likes other dogs as well. A fenced in yard will be helpful early on, so that it’s easier to go outside when I’m getting used to the idea of a new person walking me. Please give me a chance!

Pumpkin’s adoption fee is $350. Please see www.wisconsinbostonterrierrescue.com for more information on the adoption process and a link to the application form. Please email [email protected] with any questions.

Hi! My name is Ozzy! I am 8 years old and weigh 18 # and looking for my forever home! I love people, and my foster mom even says I am the perfect dog for a family with kids who like to cuddle, or for seniors, as I love to just be by somebody! I love other dogs but haven’t figured out how to play with them yet, but I do play with a toy once in a while.

I have a fenced in yard in my foster home that I love to sit and watch everything that is going on around me while my humans are busy outside. I've also learned to walk on leash, though, so if you don't have a fence but are willing to take me out on leash that's OK too. I've even finally mastered stairs! I sleep in my crate every night and don’t mind staying in my crate during the day if my humans are running errands. I do need a midday break if you're gone for a full work day, though.

Ozzy is UTD on vaccinations and neutered. He does have a grade 2 heart murmur and luxating patellas, but the vet has not recommended any treatment for either- they're just things to keep an eye on. Ozzie's adoption fee is $350. You can find more information on the adoption process and a link to the application form on our website at www.wisconsinbostonterrierrescue.com. Please email [email protected] with any questions.

My name is Boo, Bouvier if we are being formal. I’m a 6-month-old Rat Terrier mix and I’m seeking my forever home I’m not too tiny and weigh about 18 pounds, all full of energy. I have two foster dog brothers to play with and we have a great time. I’m a typical puppy and keep my foster mom on her toes.

What else would you like to know? I am super cute…and I mean 100% adorable. Check out my pictures! I’m housebroken, crate trained, love to go on walks, enjoying playing, and I’m learning basic cues. My foster mom is a trainer and she says I’m very smart and easy to work with, especially because I’m very food motivated. I would love to take some classes with my new family so I can continue to learn and build my confidence.

I’d love a companion dog in my new home, but it’s not required. I’m gaining confidence and don’t rely so much on the other dogs in my foster home. My new home should have a fenced-in yard to keep me safe and allow me to show off my zoomies. I haven’t been around children a lot and would do best with older children. There are no cats in my foster home, but I don’t seem to have a high prey drive.

I have some general anxiety (I didn’t have a great start to life) and I’ve been on meds for the last month. They’ve helped me to chill out and I’ve blossomed. The meds are inexpensive, and I will stay on them until I transition to my new home. I’m braver when it comes to meeting new people and dogs, but introductions must be done slowly and at my pace. I found out new people give lots of treats!

If you are looking for a smart, handsome, active, fun-loving pup I might be the one for you. I’m fully vetted, microchipped and ready to go. My adoption fee is $400 and if you are interested in adopting me, please see www.wisconsinbostonterrierrescue.com for more info on the adoption process and a link to the application form. You can also email [email protected] with any questions.

**ADOPTED**

Hi, I’m Parker! I am a 7 year old, 25 pound neutered guy looking for my forever home. I came from a puppy mill a few weeks ago. My foster mom says I am “super chill” and I love snuggling on the couch. I love attention from people! I get along great with all creatures that I’ve met so far. I have 4 doggy foster siblings and they are teaching me how to play and be a dog. I would really like a home that has another doggy sibling, but I might be ok as an only dog too. I’ve been around cats and I don’t mind them either. I do well with little people too, but they should be at least 4 years old.

A fence is preferred, as I am not a fan of walking on a leash, but I am doing well with a long lead as long as I have a lot of slack. So, if you're willing to work on that with me I can go to a home without a fence. I am doing really well learning to go potty outside, I rarely have any accidents as long as you keep me on a schedule or if you watch my subtle cues I usually let you know! I am a very good boy in my crate, I never go potty in it and most of the time I lay down quietly and rest. I would be ok during the day in my crate while you are at work. I do have a voice though and I use it when I’m excited! I'm usually very chill, but I will use my loud voice at first when I'm crated or left alone in a new place and I'm nervous. Since I can be a loud barker, I might bother neighbors in an apartment.

I’m learning lots of new things, like come and sit. My foster family is working on teaching me to be a really good boy. I promise to be the best boy I can be in my forever home!

Parker's adoption fee is $400. You can find more information on the adoption process and a link to the application form on our website at www.wisconsinbostonterrierrescue.com. Please email [email protected] with any questions.

***ON MEDICAL HOLD: Herman is on hold while we address a medical concern. Those who have already applied will be updated via email. If additional applications are accepted after his medical issues are addressed, we will post a revised bio, as he also has displayed some resource guarding behaviors.***

Not your average Boston! Say hello to Herman aka Cheeseburger Eddie! Herman is a 6-year-old, 36lb neutered male. He is such a well-mannered guy that his foster mom describes him as a unicorn. Herman came to rescue after his human mom passed away and the family couldn’t keep him. It is clear he was very loved and treated like the prince that he is. After losing his mom, Herman was heartbroken, but has since bonded well with his foster mom and siblings.

Herman is great on a leash, no tugging or pulling and will even potty easily on a leash. He knows sit and is a true gentleman when taking treats or food. Polite is an understatement, he barely barks. Speaking of barking, he can’t help himself to let out a few barks at the mailman or delivery people, but it is like three woofs and then some grunts. So, he would be fine in an apartment and does not require a fenced in yard, though he loves to play in the backyard.

He is an active boy, but very out of shape, so exercise and play should be short intervals until he builds stamina. As mentioned, he likes to play, tug toys are his favorite. He is quite strong and could knock over small children, so ages 6+ that are dog savvy, and calm are important. It was reported that he is good with kids, though he seems apprehensive of smaller more hyper kids. He is supposed to be good with cats, though not tested in rescue.

He is not crate trained but is a perfect gentleman and hasn’t chewed anything. He is also potty trained and has not had any accidents in the house. He sleeps either in bed with his foster family, the back of the sofa or in his dog bed. Herman’s favorite activity other than giving kisses is watching out the window, this is his #1 favorite thing other than bacon, so if you have a big window for him to watch the world, that would be awesome, as mentioned he doesn’t bark but grunts quietly.

Herman may need some extra space and patience adjusting to a forever home, as his transition to rescue was difficult, including shutting down and not eating. So, his home will need to be prepared for this and give him time.

Herman:
-Housebroken: yes!
-Good with kids: if they are calm and dog savvy, 6+
-Good with cats and other dogs (even big ones)
-Walks on leash/ fenced in yard not required.

If you are looking for a unicorn, this guy is it! We have not seen any vices, but he is a dog and a Boston, so there has to be one bad habit somewhere hiding, or he really is a unicorn. We ARE still working on finding a food that agrees with his tummy, and it's possible he'll need prescription food- his foster mom will share details with approved applicants. But, since he's otherwise great and ready for a forever home, we'll review applications while we continue to sort that out.

Herman's adoption fee is $400, and he is neutered and up to date on vaccines. You can find more information on the adoption process and a link to the application form on our website at www.wisconsinbostonterrierrescue.com. Please email [email protected] with any questions.

Hazel is a sweet 1 year old, approximately 19 lb girl that is still learning how to be a dog, but is ready for her forever home to help teach her! She is a high energy dog who loves to play and loves being with her people – she’s good with people of any age. She’s also good with other dogs, and would love another playful dog in her home. We have not had a chance to observe her with cats.

She does not do well when left alone, so she needs a home with people who are around most of the time (for example, retired or work from home), or who can bring her to a dog daycare if they have to be away for work. She does do well in a crate if she can see her humans, but prefers to be out and about. This girl is FAST and adventurous, so she will either need a yard with a 6 foot fence, or to be securely leashed, and to be supervised any time she is outside. Hazel is potty trained. Puppy classes would be great for helping her learn manners. Hazel is being fostered near WI Dells.

Hazel is spayed and up to date on vaccines, and her adoption fee is $300. We believe she is a mix of Boston and Klee Kai based on a littermate's DNA test. Please see www.wisconsinbostonterrierrescue.com for more information on the adoption process and a link to the application form, and please email [email protected] with any questions.

Ralphie is an 8 year old, 23 lb sweet shy Boston boy looking for his forever home! Ralphie was rescued from a puppy mill in December 2022, and has been working hard since then to overcome his fears and learn to be a dog. He will need a quiet home with at least one other friendly dog, no children under 12 (and only patient humans above that age who can respect his need for space). He also absolutely requires a secure physical fence as he's not capable of leash walks. He likes other dogs and plays well - the other dogs in his foster home are older and don't play often, but he really liked it when a more playful foster visited. He hasn't met any cats, but we don't expect that he'd have any problems.

Ralphie came into rescue as an extremely frightened, anxious, traumatized dog. With a lot of hard work, he has learned to do more and more real dog stuff. He's learned that it's REALLY fun to sniff around outside, and even sometimes play with other dogs and toys. He is potty trained on a schedule, following other dogs out, but does not ask to go outside independently. Ralphie's needs include daily medication for anxiety, and no big staircases and a ramp for short ones as he hasn't learned stairs. He also needs dog waste in the yard to be picked up promptly, or else he'll try to help and give himself an upset tummy.

Ralphie still does not want humans to touch him too much, but will accept treats from a friendly hand. He's even learned to beg for people food and taught his foster mom to always share a bite of her banana. He allows his foster mom to pick him up in a blanket or towel and do basic grooming like nail trims and ear cleaning, though it may take time to work up to that with a new person. He no longer has enough teeth to seriously injure a person, but still should be handled carefully to avoid a biting level of fear.

Ralphie is very good about going into his crate and feels safe there, but has also come around to humans enough that he usually chooses to hang out in the same room as his foster mom much of the time, relaxing in a nearby dog bed. His foster humans work from home, but he's fine with them being gone at times. He can hold it 8+ hours overnight.

Ralphie needs a patient home who are ok with him not wanting to snuggle. He's a cute little guy who's learning how to be a braver dog, and could be a good playmate for other dogs in a home. If you might be the very special person who could take over teaching him, please reach out. All questions should be directed to [email protected]. His adoption fee will be $300, as he is a senior and has special needs. You can also find information on the adoption process and a link to the application form on our website at www.wisconsinbostonterrierrescue.com.

Who is this handsome fella you ask? This is Boo, whose formal name is Bouvier. He is a 6-month-old handsome Rat Terrier pup who is looking for his forever home. Boo and his siblings didn’t have the best start in life but are thriving in rescue. We really don’t know what he’s mixed with, but the “handsome stranger” category comes to mind. He currently weighs 16-ish pounds, is neutered, microchipped and ready for a new adventure.

Boo currently lives with two foster brothers (a Boston Terrier and a Boxer) and makes the most of every day. He LOVES to play and needs a home with another dog and a fenced-in yard. There are no cats in his foster home, but his foster mom thinks he’d be okay with cats. His foster mom is a dog trainer and loves working with Boo. Boo has the fastest sit in town! He is crate trained, enjoys walks, and is mostly house trained. (He's still a puppy and accidents happen.) Because of his background, he needs time to warm up to people and other dogs, but once he does, he’s good to go. If you’d like a smaller, active dog who loves to play, Boo might be the one for you.

Boo is available for adoption through Wisconsin Boston Terrier Rescue. He is neutered and vaccinated, and his adoption fee is $400. Boo takes medication for anxiety and his adopter should plan to work with their vet to continue this for at least a few months, and then decide whether to wean him off. You can find more information on the adoption process and a link to the application form on our website at www.wisconsinbostonterrierrescue.com. Please email [email protected] with any questions.

**Adopted**

Remy is a sweet, 9lb, 6 month old rat terrier mix baby. He happily plays with another puppy in his foster home and even gets in a regular zoomie session around the couch. He really likes to be close to his people, whether snuggled up on a lap, in a nearby dog bed, or even carried around with you! He loves car rides and even spending time at his foster mom's yoga studio. He's been out and about at the local farmer's market and shops getting used to crowds and stimulation. Since he can startle to quick movements, any children must be older than 10 and able to understand when to slow down, quiet down, and give a dog space. His foster home does have two older kids he spends time with. You may find him under a bed or couch when he chooses to momentarily hide away and chew on a toy.

Remy has been doing great potty training and is now crate trained. A home with someone home much of the time and able to make frequent trips outside would be ideal. He is leash trained in his foster home, so as long as you can keep that up he doesn't need a fence. A trip out for a walk to find pinecones is his favorite time outside.

Remy is neutered, up to date with vaccinations, microchipped, and has a clean bill of health. His adoption fee is $400. Please see www.wisconsinbostonterrierrescue.com for more information on the adoption process and a link to the application form, and email [email protected] with any questions.

Hi! My name is Daisy! I am a 1.5 year old, 11 pound female Boston looking for my forever home. I came from a puppy mill and was scared at first, but now love people, being carried around, and snuggling. I do occasionally still get nervous about certain things, including doors and steps, but being able to follow other dogs' lead does really help. Because I'm an energetic young dog who plays rough and can act like a mouthy puppy, any dogs in my forever home should be similarly playful, and any human kids need to be dog savvy and at least 10 years old. I love running around a fenced yard, so that would be really nice, but if you're willing to take me for walks on leash, that could work too. I'm not sure what I would do if I met a cat - I am a rough player with dogs and I chase critters in the yard, so my foster mom is a little concerned I might not play nicely.

I'm used to going in my crate for short periods when my foster people have to leave the house. I did guard that crate at first, but I've gotten better about that. I would be ok with you being away for work as long as I get a potty break at lunch time. Speaking of going potty, I've learned the routine here well following other dogs and using the fenced yard, but may need some positive reinforcement for a new routine in a new place. At night I like to sleep in the big bed, or on the couch snuggled in a blankie! Oh, and if you leave socks and shoes around - I might steal them! Sorry, it's such a fun game. Otherwise, I don't chew on things I shouldn't. Like I said, though, I can also be mouthy when playing, and may nip, though redirecting me to a toy helps. Maybe we could go to a training class and work on my manners together?

Daisy's adoption fee is $400, and she is spayed and up to date on vaccines. Daisy has knee issues that may lead to arthritis in the future, but after an orthopedic consultation found that it was very uncertain whether surgery would improve this, we have opted against for surgery for her. She gets around very well right now, but her adopter will need to be prepared to manage potential arthritis symptoms as she ages. If you could be the right forever home for this cute little nugget, you can find more information on the adoption process and the link to the application form on our website at www.wisconsinbostonterrierrescue.com. Please email [email protected] with any questions.

Ozzy is an 8 year, 18 pound former mill stud now looking for a loving forever home! He has his neuter and dental coming up, so we're accepting applications to review while he recovers. He is good with people, including kids, and other calm dogs. He does have a grade 2 heart murmur and luxating patellas, but the vet has not recommended any treatment for either- they're just things to keep an eye on. He had very low muscle tone from being caged but is so much better now with light walking and exercising. He'd love a fenced yard to lounge in in nice weather, but is also OK with leash walks.

Ozzie does sometimes freezes in new places, especially with transitions like steps and doorways, but can easily be picked up and carried. He has learned to enjoy walks on leash with a well fitting harness, but doesn't need a ton of exercise. He really loves lazing in his foster home's fence yard, so a fenced yard would be nice for him. He can master 2-3 steps going up but is hesitant a lot of the time, can not jump up on the couch but does well jumping off and getting down stairs.

This big couch potato loves humans, especially kids! He doesn't really play with toys. He interacts well with other dogs but doesn’t play with them, and he will let them know if they are being too forward with him. Since he's not much of a player and is kind of a couch potato, he's probably not going to be a best buddy for high energy young dogs, but he'd be good with other calm/lazy friends. He hasn't met cats, but his behavior doesn't raise any concerns.

Crate and potty training are going pretty well, though he'll need continued reinforcement on potty training in a new place. He is used to sleeping in a crate at night and doing his business outside in the morning, but has still been wearing a belly band inside to curb marking. We're hopeful this will improve between his neuter and a continued consistent routine and positive reinforcement! He is also used to going in his crate for a few hours if his foster mom needs to leave, though he hasn't been alone a full day. He does sometimes bark when left, so between that and potty training, ideally he wouldn't be alone a full work day without a break. He also loves to keep an eye on his foster mom when she is home, so you can expect him to want to hang out with his people a lot.

Ozzie's adoption fee will be $350. You can find more information on the adoption process and a link to the application form on our website at www.wisconsinbostonterrierrescue.com. Please email [email protected] with any questions.
