Hey 5 and Under Curlers!!

QUALIFIER BONSPIELS FOR FIVE-AND-UNDER NATIONALS ANNOUNCED — USA CURLING USA Curling has selected the 23 Five-and-Under Bonspiels (events for curlers over the age of 21 who have been actively participating in the sport for five years or less) that will serve as qualifier events for the 2025 Five-and-Under Nationals, scheduled for April 30-May 4, 2025, at the Saint Paul

Mark your calendars for a special day! Wausau will play host to a touring group of Canadians who will be competing against some select Wausau curlers in a friendly (but competitive). The Can-Am Cup is a friendly tour of curlers and every 5 years a tour leaves from Canada or the United States alternately and each tour is comprised of curlers who have shown contributions to their club and the sport of curling. It will be exciting w more information coming soon!!

SITES FOR U21 JUNIOR NATIONALS CONFIRMED THROUGH 2028, QUALIFIERS ALSO SET FOR 2024-25 — USA CURLING USA Curling is pleased to announce host locations for the U21 Junior Men’s & Women’s National Championships through 2028.

Good Curling, Rhinelander! We look forward to hosting Arena Nationals and whoever the Wisconsin representative is— Rhinelander or Lacrosse!

Exciting new USA Curling certification! You never know where it could lead w the Salt Lake City Olympics 10 years away! ?

We are excited to introduce a new certification—Game Scoring! It’s the first step in our Analytics education. Participants will learn how to produce accurate Shooting Percentages with standardized templates. Registrants will be graded on two ends of play during the Mixed Doubles Pre-Trials. To complete the certification, participants will score five additional games—on-site or remotely. It’s a great way to improve your game knowledge.

Team USA is honored to welcome the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games to the U.S. in 2034.

We are thrilled to be offering a Level 2 Coaching Certification at the Members’ Assembly. Sign up for the full-day Coach Conference that includes classroom sessions, on-ice instruction, and hands-on coach instruction during the Mixed Doubles Pre-Trials. Level 1 Certification can be completed by those with Coach memberships through virtual educational modules ahead of the Assembly.

MEMBERS’ ASSEMBLY HOST HOTEL CONFIRMED, COURSE AND SKILLS CLINICS REGISTRATION OPEN — USA CURLING A host hotel for the Members’ Assembly and Members’ Meeting at the Chaska Curling and Community Center in Chaska, MN, has been confirmed, and registrations for all events is open.

Congratulations to all of these accomplished individuals! We are especially proud to call a few these fine people our own!! Coach Wendling, Matt Thums, and Wes Wendling of Team Wendling are all Wausau curlers!

Speaking of pins.. we LOVE pins. Zoom in and look at the detail! Near the bottom center is the oldest example of our club shield pin. Other pins are the set of 1976 USMCA supporter pins for the National Championships that year. Examples of our lady Highlander pins including the 1981 USWCA Championship in Wausau. Some Men’s Event pins dedicated to a couple founding members, JL Sturtevant and Perry Wilson. If you have old pins, please seek out a good place for them!
