November 16th is World Pancreatic Cancer Day and November is Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month…Connect Thru Cancer supports individuals diagnosed with ANY type of cancer. 🎗💜

We are once again supporting our families by helping to make this holiday season a little less stressful with our 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐭 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐚 program. Our generous donors will purchase and wrap gifts to help make this busy season a little easier, and allow the patient to focus on their healing. Gift lists are in and available for shopping!

We had a fantastic time getting into the holiday spirit at our new 𝐖𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡 𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 event this past Sunday. Take a look at some of the beautiful custom wreaths we created! 🎄

November is National Family Caregivers Month. We want to honor all the wonderful caregivers who give so much of themselves to others every day. Our 𝐈𝐧-𝐇𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 provides respite for those in cancer treatment and those who take care of them.

This allows the patient in treatment and their caregivers time to focus on their own needs, all the while knowing their children are enjoying some much needed playtime. CTC’s In-Home Program includes a once per week, hour and a half visit (for 6-weeks) and is FREE to our families. CTC program administrators bring the fun - bins of toys, specifically selected for the kids, crafts, and books - all ready to create a fun filled, child-focused hour and a half of pure playtime.

Last year, Taylor Hardin, a graduate of Kennett High School, was awarded the very first Cammie Hall Sanders Memorial Scholarship Award. She had this to say recently about receiving this award: "Aided by the kindness of the Sanders family and Connect Thru Cancer, I’ve made it to the school of my dreams. While at the University of Pittsburgh in my pursuit of a career in environmental science, I have met countless lifelong friends and learned a lot about what life has to give and how far I’ve come," said Taylor. "College has been insanely challenging, but not only did the scholarship help me financially, it also connected me to a life after cancer, and reminded me that I belong to a strong community, one I have found at Pitt."

Connect Thru Cancer is pleased to share the 2024-2025 application for the Cammie Hall Sanders Memorial Scholarship Award is now OPEN! https://forms.gle/BuNWNdcV3eWPNYPi7.

This scholarship honors the life of Cammie Hall Sanders, a devoted mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend and CTC client who passed away in 2023 after a courageous twelve-year battle with breast cancer.

This award will be presented to a local high school senior who has been impacted by cancer either personally, or by an immediate family member’s (parent/guardian/sibling) battle with cancer. This award honors Cammie’s memory and spirit, while providing financial assistance to a deserving high school senior.

"Cammie's greatest gift was her ability to inspire people to see the good in the world through her daily acts of kindness," said Frank Sanders. “My daughter Shae and I are thrilled that Cammie's heart and legacy will live on for many years through this memorial scholarship."
