This fall I participated in Maternal Health Incubator Hub. I learned so much about and sexual orientation and gender in birth and parenting. All of my learning will help me to better serve my clients and community. Project is ✅ but the learning will continue

And just like that my 1st baby of 2024🥳! Baby arrived quickly, I mean very quickly! Very rarely do I arrive in an evening and go home that same evening 🤣 all are healthy and well!! 💙

Welcome to Ohr Birth and Wellness Services!

My name is Ashley, and I am a mother of three. Being a mother is the most important role in my life. Because of this, I find a doula’s work to be essential. I was lucky to be invited to the births of some of my very special friends and relatives to support their journey’s into motherhood. Each time, I was amazed at the strength of these women, their determination, and SO MUCH love! There is nothing like birth!

Although I had experienced these things with my loved ones, I thought, “No big deal. I was just there to help.” They thought differently! These same women encouraged me to make it official, become a trained doula, and assist other women in their birthing process. They believe in me and the energy I bring. I look to bring that same support, care, energy, and encouragement to my work with other mothers-to-be.

My approach: Bring light. Bring order to what can be chaotic but does not have to be.

Ohr- means light in Hebrew.
Upon creation of the universe, G-d said, “Let there be light”... And G-d saw the light, and it was good, and G-d divided the light from the darkness.”

Although light can mean “the sun,” a deeper meaning to this command was to bring order to chaos. This order, both natural and divine, shows strength and faith. Placing ourselves squarely in the light, we are an optimistic force with the promise and vision of achieving whatever we put our mind and body to.
