Well that’s a wrap! WFD finished up two weeks of fire education across all of Weymouths elementary schools reaching over 1000 great students! We talked about safety at home, in the water, learned about our firefighting gear, and got to run around with some real fire hose! Thanks to our members for coming out, our school administrators for giving us time at your schools, and of course the fantastic kids of Weymouth for being such great learners! And remember if we ever see smoke or fire we “get out and stay out!”

Congratulations to our two interns Nathaniel Mackin and Kevin Kiely who were with us last year and the graduated today from Mass Maritime with degrees in Emergency Management. They both did exceptional work assisting our staff in pre fire planning target hazards throughout the Town, especially the work Nate Mackin did identifying hazards associated with the Fogg Building in Columbian Square.

Weymouth Community Connect 01/04/2023

Weymouth Fire Department is pleased to announced they've begun using Community Connect, a free, secure, and easy to use platform that allows you to share critical information about your household that will aid first responders and emergency response personnel when responding to your residence, and encourage residents to sign-up for the service at no cost.

Community Connect allows residents to provide critical property and occupant information to Weymouth Fire that they can access at time of response, leading to better outcomes in case of fire or medical emergency. Some examples of information you can provide include who lives at your residence, information about your pet(s), details regarding functional needs like mobility, and more. All data is safe and only available to first responders at the time of emergency, and Community Connect utilizes the same data security and encryption standards found in online banking.
