We are getting ready to kick off a brand new season of Bible quizzing. Why should your kid do quizzing? Because it is a no-cost, super fun way for your kids to learn scripture.

We attend 4 quizzes per season, practice weekly (on Sunday mornings), and explore the heart of scripture together. If you are interested in having your kids participate contact us today, it's open to kids from 1st - 5th (there are levels for beginners versus those who are more advanced.)

You and your family are invited to one of our biggest Sundays of the year. Promotion Sunday! On Promotion Sunday we celebrate all our kids who throughout the year moved up to the next class or grade level.

This day is significant because it celebrates kids and families who are growing in faith and trust in God.

Pointing kids to the heart of God always starts with patience. We must have the patience to sit with them through their questions, exploring, silliness, and rabbit trails. 🐇 😅

Helping the next generation know and trust God is the greatest honor.

Sundays are full of smiles. Whether playing games, singing songs, making crafts, praying together, or exploring the Bible, we do it joyfully. We can't wait to see you Sunday!

Our Three Things are central to everything that we do. Our elementary kids just finished a summer-long series focusing on each one. Take time to ask your kids if they can tell you the Three Things. 😊

We are so thankful for the many people who sit in circles with kids every week. Our team serves with passion and purpose. These folks take seriously the call to point kids to the heart of God.

!! LOCATION CHANGE FOR WATER FUN NIGHT !!

The city of Wichita has instituted water restrictions starting on Aug. 5th. The goal of the city is to reduce community water use by 10%. We want to be good neighbors so we are changing the water fun night's location. We will meet at Pastor Larry's house for a swim party. We will still have activities for all ages, snacks, games, and giveaways. Remember each kid should have a parent or trusted grownup with them there.

Where: First Church of the Nazarene on the west lawn.

August is always a hectic month. Getting into the school groove is never easy but we are here to help.

Why?Sunday: Sunday, August 4th 9:00 am. We will be exploring the question; Why is the Bible important?

Back to School Sunday: Sunday, August 11th, 9:00 am. Kids will enjoy a Sunday filled with back-to-school games, crafts, and lessons.

Promotion Sunday: Sunday, August 25th, 11:00 am. There will be activities, a photo booth, and pop-tarts! Our incoming 1st graders will receive brand new Bibles in the worship service.

Yesterday the conversation in our elementary area revolved around the idea that you may need help living out the amazing purpose God has for your life. Safe and helpful family and friends are essential to kids discovering and living out the amazing purpose that God has for them.

Memories are made on each Sunday. Connections with friends, funny stories, creative crafts, and fun games are all memory builders we design to reinforce the gospel weekly.

We have 2 amazing family events things planned for August. First, is our 2nd annual Family Water Fun Party on Wednesday, August 7th. The second is Promotion Sunday on Sunday the 25th. This is when you recognize all the kids who have moved up to the next grade level.

We look forward to seeing you at both.

Singing songs of worship is important during each kid's service. In elementary we learn 1 song per month and sing it each week. This helps kids learn the words so well they can sing them in their sleep. 😴

Every Sunday our kids spend at least ½ of their time at church in smaller groups. This allows them to think deeper, ask questions, connect with caring grown-ups, and, build relationships with kids their age.

For several weeks our kids and leaders have been exploring our Three Things together. We want every kid to know the Three Things deep in their hearts and their heads.

Our Big Three Things are...
+ God has a neverending love for you.
+ God wants to have a growing relationship with you
+ God has an amazing purpose for your life.

Camp is a highlight every year for our kids and leaders. Registration is closed, but this year we have 12 kids and 6 leaders going. Please pray for our folks and the folks that we gather with from all around Kansas.

If you are signed up here is what you need to know.

Here's the schedule for the week:
Monday, July 15th: First day of camp. (Remember to bring a lunch you can eat once we get to camp. Lunch is not served on Monday)
10:00 am --> Meet at Church for packing and lice checks.
10:45 am --> Leave for camp.
11:00 am --> Arrive at camp for registration.
11:30 am --> Eat lunch together at camp.

Wednesday, July 17th: Last day of camp.
1:00 pm --> Last chapel service starts
2:00 pm --> Dismissal begins
3:00 pm --> Leave camp
3:30 pm --> Arrive back at the church

The Bible is central to what we do. Exploring the Bible helps kids know God's character and that He can be trusted. It also helps them discover their place in God's big story!

Sunday's are pivotal for the faith development of kids. Anytime kids can be together asking similar questions, hearing the same story, and discussing the same things with a caring adult who follows Jesus it turns them in a direction toward God.

Wichita First Kids Weekly l July 1 2024 District Kids Camp Kids Camp is coming! The dates are July 15-17 at Wheatstate Campground in Augusta! We are going to have a great time. Registration closes on July 5th. If you have not signed up yet the cost is $120 per camper.
