With summer festivities kicking off, we want to remind you about the symptoms of heatstroke and prevention tips:

-Never leave your pet unattended in a car
-When hot/humid, keep your pet’s time outdoors limited ​
-Keep your pet hydrated​
-Ensure your pet has ventilation and a cool environment​
-Dogs with short noses are at higher risk due to their condensed facial anatomy and restricted ability to cool themselves​
-If any signs of heat stroke appear, contact our team immediately. ​

-Keep alcohol and table scraps away from your pet​
-Never leave your pet unsupervised around bodies of water
-Keep your pet hydrated​
-Limit time in the sun and heat ​
-Keep your pet away from fireworks​
-Make sure your pet has an ID tag or is microchipped​

A microchip is a secure, reliable, permanent identification for your pet and the process is simple and affordable. Microchipping your pet can help ensure that if your pet goes missing, they can be identified and find their way back to you.

WELLNESS WEDNESDAY TIPS: Ear Cleaning ('Tis the Allergy Season)
1️⃣ Squeeze a veterinarian-approved ear-cleaning solution into your pet’s ear canal (or soak a cotton ball) and massage gently at the base of the ear. You will hear a squishing sound as the product dislodges debris and buildup.
2️⃣ Let your pet shake their head.
3️⃣ Take a cotton ball or gauze and gently wipe out the excess fluid/debris from the ear canal, going no deeper than the depth of one knuckle.
4️⃣ Give your pet a treat for being a good sport!
**Do not use Hydrogen Peroxide as it can cause irritation to healthy cells, be sure to use an approved ear cleaner 🐶🐱
