“Strengthening families to build a better community”
Connected Communities is looking for a part-time Administrative and Billing Coordinator. While there may be other administrative duties, the primary responsibility will be billing MCOs for a variety of psychotherapy sessions and matching MCO payments to invoices in QuickBooks. Looking for someone with *both* of these skills. If you know anyone, please send them our way. Or, if this you, please reach out to us directly ☺️
Thank you to the Bank of Clarke Foundation for sponsoring the 4th Annual Back2School Event 🎉
We appreciate your support of this event to give back to our community!
We had the privilege and honor of attending the Hope in the Valley event - a Community Call to Action for our local foster care system. We learned ways to help, learned about adoptable children in the foster care system, and shared community resources with each other.
Connected Communities was invited to lead breakout sessions on how the foster care system affects mental health, and educated the community on trauma and resiliency. Our Founder + CEO also moved the room with his powerful testimony about his time in the foster care system and how that inspired the inception of Connected Communities.
We were so happy to be alongside:
Project Belong Virginia
Children's Services of Virginia, Inc.
Love Church
I'M JUST ME MOVEMENT
Wi******er City Sheriff's Office
Wi******er Department of Social Services
And any others we may have missed!
Come meet our staff!
Connected Communities is proud of the staff we have! We’re starting a series eloquently called “Meet the Staff” where you get a short look at each of our staff members.
First up we have, Raina White, Clinical Program Director for our Community-Based Services. Raina’s first day in this role is today! Raina transitioned into this role from her outpatient therapist role. Raina’s clinical skills paired with her supervisory experience is the perfect combination for this role. We’re excited to see where she takes our programming to next!
✨ Everyone, meet Raina! ✨
Our team is out at Wi******er Public Schools’ Readiness Fair. We’ll be here from 10-6 giving out mental health resources and talking about our Outpatient in the Schools program.
Did you know we have amazing outpatient therapists at the following schools in the Wi******er Public Schools district:
Quarles Elementary
Daniel Morgan Intermediate and Middle Schools
John Handley High School
If you have a student in need of mental health services who attends one of these schools, your child can be seen during the school day right at school! If your child does not attend one of these schools and still needs services, please reach out to us and we can see them at one of our offices ☺️
We’re so grateful to be one of three beneficiaries of the Blue Ridge Association of Realtors’ 1st Annual Golf Tournament. Today, our Founder + CEO, Tavan Mair, attended an intimate check presentation ceremony at the BRAR offices. Congratulations to all the beneficiaries and thank you to BRAR for selecting us as a beneficiary!
Connected Communities had the pleasure of attending the 2nd Annual Family Field Day last Saturday put on by Love Harder Marriage Coaching. We were asked to bring an activity for families to participate in and our station was a sponge toss relay. What a fun event! Thank you for having us!
Connected Communities is looking for a location to host our 4th Annual Back2School Day. Ideally the location would have indoor/outdoor access and be able to accommodate stations to give away schools supplies, an area for our barbers/braiders, an area for lunch to be served, and an area for a small-ish vendor fair. The date is 8/10 and we’re hoping for the event to happen from 12-3 - we would also need additional time for setup and break down.
Leads/locations for spaces in/around Front Royal are appreciated ☺️
A promise of freedom, liberty and opportunity, not for some but for all.
Happy Juneteenth! ❤️🖤💚
We’re BLESSED to have so many quality fathers here at Connected Communities. These men go by many names, but today, we call them dad 💕
Happy Father’s Day to these special guys and to all the fathers, step-fathers, adoptive fathers, pet fathers, and father figures!
Our fearless leader is now a graduate of the Top of Virginia Regional Chamber’s 2023-2024 Community Leadership Program. Congratulations to Tavan and all the other graduates! 🥂🎉🥳
Connected Communities is at United Way of Northern Shenandoah Valley’s Project Connect! We’re taking referrals for services, educating the community on the important of mental health services, connecting with other local service providers, AND promote our new service… VIDEO GAME THERAPY. Come see us today ✨
Members of our wonderful Clinical Outpatient team attended the Triumph Over Trauma Summit at Laurel Ridge Community College. Our therapists learned about topics such as Nurturing Connection After Trauma, Racial Trauma and Recovery 101, and Healing Centered and Trauma-Informed Ways of Leading.
Our staff also took home two books, the one by the keynote speaker and “What Happened to You” which was co-authored by Oprah Winfrey. Following the summit there will be a Community Book Read on “What Happened to You” 🥰
We’re grateful for the opportunity to expand our therapists’ knowledge and understanding of trauma and how it can affect the community we serve. Thank you to all the wonderful people and organizations who helped organize the event ✨🤩💕
All these women have many titles, but the best one is “mom”. We’re honored to have so many wonderful mothers on our team.
Whether you’re a mom, stepmom, adoptive mom, pregnant mom, wanting to be a mom, dog mom, or mother-figure - we honor you today.
✨Happy Mother’s Day✨

The Residential Deviation Program is an intervention strategy aimed at at-risk youth, offering intensive behavioral support to prevent criminal charges or possible out-of-home placement. The program provides weekly therapeutic supervision across multiple home, school, and community settings. It aims to bolster communication and relationships between the youth and their parents or guardians, helping them remain in their homes. The program also promotes the development of a suitable home structure, supporting the youth in demonstrating responsible behavior in different environments.
In addition, the Residential Deviation Program guides individuals toward setting and achieving behavioral change goals through cognitive transformation and acquiring positive social skills. This aids in fostering meaningful relationships and aligning their goals with positive life choices. The program also encourages self-reflection, allowing participants to understand the options that led them to require this level of intensive support. Furthermore, the program integrates exercise and fitness as a critical component, enabling participants to channel negative thoughts and feelings into productive actions. This can help replace detrimental thinking and behavioral patterns. The program ultimately aids participants in self-identification and developing skills necessary for increasing self-confidence and making responsible behavioral choices.
We are excited to announce that we are hiring! We have exciting opportunities for individuals who are interested in truly making a difference in their community!
