Good evening Paisley IB Family, this is Dr. Mann with your last weekly update for the year of 2021! I hope everyone has stayed dry and warm this weekend. Now for your weekly updates.
We will only be in school on Monday and Tuesday this week. Holiday break starts on Wednesday, December 23, 2021 and goes through January 4, 2022. Students will return to school on Wednesday, January 5th.
On behalf of the staff, I would like to say “Thank you” to the PTSA for providing lunch and all the families that provided a multitude of treats on Friday. It was greatly appreciated by all! Also, another “Thank you” to the PTSA for providing the staff with a long sleeve T-shirt as well.
Last Friday our high school students spent a majority of the day in the auditorium due to having several teachers absent. It had nothing to do with information on Tik Tok. This was the easiest solution to supervise students with the teachers we had present.
Over holiday break I will not be sending any messages via phone or email unless there is something urgent that needs to be sent out. However, there may be some things posted on Facebook. I hope everyone has a blessed and safe holiday break and I look forward to seeing everyone in 2022!
Well that’s all for tonight from the home of THE Premier Academic, Extra-Curricular, and Athletic Experience! Passion, Purpose, Pride; Paisley IB!

Good evening Paisley IB Families, this is Dr. Mann with just a few midweek updates.
It was so great seeing all of the students that participated in Wacky Tacky Week! Some students really went all out for this event, as well as some staff. We are going back and counting up the numbers to see which grade level had the highest participation. Results will be announced next week.
Remember that there will be no school tomorrow or Friday. Tomorrow, November 11th, we are out to observe Veterans Day and Friday, November 12th, the district has designated it as a Day of Kindness. So, I would like to say as a veteran myself, thank you to all who have served our great country! Also, we are asking our students to show kindness to others while they are out on Friday. We spoke about this during morning announcements that one of the ways that students can show kindness and caring (this months Learner Profile Trait) is to write a thank you note to our custodian, Mr. Soria, that works tirelessly to keep our school clean or to a teacher, counselor, secretary, or administrator that has helped them during this school year and bring that into them on Monday.
Congratulations to Zoey G., Sharmar H., and Clar H. for being chosen for All County Dance.
Congratulations to the girls and boys volleyball teams for their win over Hanes MS yesterday. The girls are now 3-0 and the boys are 2-1.
Well that’s all for tonight from the home of THE Premier Academic, Extra-Curricular, and Athletic Experience! Passion, Purpose, Pride; Paisley IB!
Good evening Paisley IB Families, this is Dr. Mann with your weekly updates for the week of November 8, 2021. I hope everyone enjoyed getting an extra hour of sleep last night as we fell back one hour for daylight savings.
This week is a short three-day week. Thursday we will be out of school for Veterans Day Holiday and Friday we will be out of school as the district has designated it as a Day of Kindness.
Yesterday the district held its annual School Showcase and it was great seeing so many of you, current and future families, stop by our table yesterday. I would also like to say thank you to the students that were there helping out as well.
This week we will be Wacky Tacky Week. Each grade level will have a day designated to dress up. Monday, November 8th will be for 8th, 9th, and 10th grades; Tuesday, November 9th will be for 7th grade; and Wednesday, November 10th will be for 6th grade. Wacky Tacky day is the day you try to dress as wacky or tacky as you can! Shoes, shirt, pants, socks, makeup, hair...etc. ( all must be within the dress code guidelines). We will also be having a friendly competition between grade levels looking for the most participation, as well as, each grade level will have a winner for the most wacky/tacky student. I am looking forward to seeing some great Paisley Panthers spirit next week.
Well that’s all for tonight from the home of THE Premier Academic, Extra-Curricular, and Athletic Experience! Passion, Purpose, Pride; Paisley IB!
It was great getting to meet so many future Paisley IB Panthers today at the School Showcase! Thank you for taking time to stop by and speak with us! We look forward to seeing you again during our school tours. Go Panthers!

Each month we focus on an IB Learner Profile Trait. Each day on the morning announcements we give different examples of how the students can use the trait in their daily life either here at school or outside of school. The teachers also have conversations in their classrooms as well. This month's Learner Profile Trait is “Caring.” We want to make sure all of our students are caring individuals to themselves and other around them. Please help us out by continuing those conversations at home as well.

Good evening Paisley IB Family, this is Dr. Mann with a few midweek updates.
On Sunday I spoke about working to have small group parent meetings. I plan on sending out the first sign-up this Sunday evening with the goal of meeting on October 14th.
We are having more students and teachers asking about different clubs they would like to start at Paisley. This is great news as it gives more students opportunities to get involved. As these clubs are announced I will share this information when the teacher sponsor gives me the information to put out. One of the most important things is that if your student participates in any after school activity is to please be on time to pick them up from school.

Please consider joining the Paisley IB School PTSA if you have not done so already. I have included a letter from our PTSA president, Mrs. Parrish, that speaks great words of truth that are more true today than ever before.
PTSA Welcome
Dear Paisley Community,
Welcome to Paisley IB Magnet School for the 2021-2022 school year. The Paisley PTSA needs your help. The best schools in our county and beyond all have something in common. They all have a highly active parent community within the school community. This parent community shares their time, talents and/or treasure to support the students, faculty and administrators in the school. The old saying "it takes a village to raise a child" has never rang more true than today. We will ask you to help in various ways this year. Please consider doing so if you are able.
Our first ask is that you please join the PTSA at this link. https://pmib.memberhub.store/ It's $8 to join and the funds go toward our mission of supporting the students and teachers at Paisley. We currently have 70 parent members. Let's get to at least 200 members by the end of this week. When we work as a group, we increase our odds at creating positive change through advocacy, grants and volunteerism.
If you have questions, feel free to contact me at [email protected].
Please know that safety of our students and staff is the first and foremost priority here at Paisley IB School. This can only be accomplished when ALL students follow the expectations that they've been given here at Paisley. There is nothing that is asked of our students that is an unreasonable request of them. We ask that they follow the directions given to them by their teachers and administrators. Some of these requests are: sit quietly in your sit and complete your assignments, participate in class, be where you are supposed to be when you are supposed to be there, stand and walk in line correctly, keep your hands to yourself, keep your mask over your mouth and nose at all times, speak respectfully to their peers and adults, and one of our biggest issues-have their cell phones put away in their bookbag and their bookbag in their locker. These are just a few expectations that we have asked our students to follow. Parents, please help us by speaking with your students so we can make sure that ALL students are able to come to school and receive their education without so many disruptions.
