⏱️ CLASS TIMES: 5:30AM & 9:00AM

- 1 Mile Run
- 100 Pull-Ups
- 200 Push-Ups
- 300 Squats
- 1 Mile Run
The Murph Challenge is a grueling workout in honor of Navy Lieutenant Micheal P. Murphy, a fallen hero of June 28th, 2005.
Wether you are a seasoned athlete or new to fitness, come push yourself for a great cause.

You are probably familiar with “rate of perceived exertion” or more commonly “RPE”. This is used as a way to grade intensity of an exercise so you can know how hard to push in the workout.
For example, if the workout is prescribed as 7/10 RPE then that usually means leaving around 3 reps in the tank before failure. The caveat to this is that true failure is not considered being unable to move the weight. Failure is considered a breakdown in form AND the prescribed tempo. If the movement is a tempo squat of 3 seconds down and 3 seconds up and you are no longer able to maintain that tempo with good form then that is failure and you have likely gone too heavy. Just because you were able to move the weight, does not mean this is the intended stimulus of the movement. However, if you are going for a max lift like in a competition then this is different from a “training stimulus”.
If you are training through some level of injury, whether a tweak or ongoing problem, then this should be considered. If you are dealing with pain in a certain movement, then your form will be off and will likely exacerbate an existing problem. If your form is off/you are having pain then the RPE is 10/10 and is past the 7/10 intended stimulus for the day. Therefore, you should likely perform a variation of this movement pain free to continue progressing your fitness!
Another consideration for RPE is based on how you feel on this specific day. Stay active friends!
