We are two weeks into 2022 already! Now that 2022 is in full swing and the holidays are behind us …
That means it’s time to DECIDE …
What do you want?
And who do you need to BECOME in order to have what you want?
and I’ve got an experiment for you to fire up that excitement for the year!
It’s to pick your "WORD OF THE YEAR!"
Your word will set the tone for the entire year. It’s basically like your 2022 mantra. It’s your intention. Your word will help you to:
Stay focused
Set priorities
Make decisions
Reach your goals
Here’s how it works.
It’s simple. All you do is choose a word that resonates with you and what you aim to achieve this year, and keep it front-and-center in your mind as the year progresses.
But it’s also challenging because it has to be the RIGHT word, one that you connect with emotionally AND that aligns with your life and goals.
How to set your word:
Some questions to ask yourself as you choose your word …
→ If you could skip ahead to a year from now, what would you like to be proud of? Then, what is ONE characteristic you’ll need to embody to get there?
→ Who inspires you? What word would you use to describe them?
→ What is the underlying theme of the goals you have for this year?
→ How does the word make you FEEL?
It can help to make a list of words and think about them for a day or two before choosing.

Find ways to keep it in mind. Make it your phone screensaver, put a Post-It note on your refrigerator door and/or in your car, create a graphic featuring the word and frame it, and place it on your desk or on your bathroom wall.

Yesterday I went on a walk with Britney Spears BLASTING in my earbuds 🎶🎵🎧
No, I haven't lost my mind...
💜💜💜You see, last week was emotional for me. I was more tired than normal, the power went out while hubby was out of town, and I got really vulnerable during a coaching session with my business coaches. Some major stuff came up.
There was a time, that this level of stress and emotion would have sent me straight to the kitchen for whatever salty or sweet thing I could get my hands on!
➡ which would lead to guilt and shame and then me trying to overcompensate by working out extra hard the next day
But this weekend, instead of eating my emotions…
💜💜💜I chose pleasure
-I took the most luxurious candlelit shower
-I spent 15 minutes putting on lotion afterwards and savored every moment, used every sense, even locked eyes with myself in the mirror for a few moments
-I ordered my kids school supplies and groceries online instead of fighting with crowds of overwhelmed parents in Target and Walmart
-I challenged myself with a really fun 25 minute workout
-I treated myself to a yoga session
-And...I listened to Britney Spears “Work Bitch!” more times than I’m willing to admit
Ya'll I'll be honest -- I can't remember the last time I emotionally ate...
Because when you follow the method I teach my clients in Body Love Academy, you learn what to do with the emotions & cravings so you never have to look for them in a bag of chips again

How to Stay Motivated...
💥💜✨Connect deeply to a STRONG & CLEAR why
Instead of:
❌❌"I want to lose 30lbs, tone up and get rid of my belly"
Try:
🔥 "I want a stronger core so my back doesn't hurt every time I sneeze. Not only that, it's really uncomfortable when my jeans press into my belly. I want to get dressed in the morning and feel good when I look in the mirror. I know I'll feel so much more confident."
Let's reframe:
❌❌ "I want to fit back into my pre-baby jeans"
As:
💥" I want to get more active so I can play with my kids and not be so out of breath when I walk up the stairs. I want to feel sexy around my husband again. And more than anything, I just want to feel more comfortable in my own skin again."
Does that make sense?
Think about how you want to FEEL, what you want to be able to DO, and what EXPERIENCE you want to have instead of how you want to LOOK to unlock your strongest why and your deepest potential
Other ways to stay motivated:
💛 Have a plan ---> that works
🧡 Have a motivation strategy (know what you will do--WHEN not IF--life happens)
💚 Be aware of when it's self sabotage and when you're getting in your own way

I remember the first time I taught yoga to hip hop...
Most yoga classes have either no music or soft gentle spa music playing the the background
But not this time.
I had made an entire playlist called "Bad Bitch"
I had no idea what was going to think or the other girls in my YTT cohort, but I went for it...
I cranked the music up (all the way up!) and encouraged the b***y shaking and playful movement...
Not gon' lie. I was nervous AF, but I owned it
I had no idea that this one class was going to become THE THING that birthed "2B Yoga" and the mission behind 2B Yoga
And here we are, three years later still bending it ova, bussin it open, twerking, and being a bad bitch on and off the yoga mat
Because when you feel safe enough to twerk in downdog, soon you'll start to connect to your body and feel confident af in your own skin--and unapologetically like the bad bitch that you already are

I know the past year has done a number on our mental and physical health and the way we feel about our bodies. When was the last time you put on jeans and felt confident? 😳
