The Jessner’s Peel is my most popular medium-strength "superficial" chemical peel that is used to treat facial imperfections like: wrinkles, acne (blackheads and pimples), fine lines, laugh lines, pigmentation and damaged skin (i.e. aging and sun damage). The Jessner's peel consists of three main ingredients: lactic acid (assists in the exfoliation of the skin), salicylic acid (aids in pe*******on), and resorcinol (assists in the treatment of acne). The Jessner's Peel will cause the skin to appear white (frosted) or pink/reddish almost immediately upon application and you will experience light to medium skin peeling/flaking in the days following the application. You will most likely want to plan your schedule around this peel, since there will be down time for about 3-7 days. The Jessner’s Peel consists of a blend of 3 acids: 28% Lactic 28% Salicylic and 14% Resorcinol. Each plays a different role in resurfacing the skin. These 3 ingredients work synergistically to diminish wrinkles, lighten control and slow down the production of excess oil.
Jessner solution is a medium-depth peeling agent, which means the combination of ingredients only affects the upper layer of the dermis. It is a leave-in solution that is self-neutralizing and takes several days to complete the process (typically about 7 to 8 days).
