Sometimes people donate their sweet bicycles to STAY so we can clean them up and sell them to generate trail funds! We have a couple of those bikes available here today! Any funds raised will go directly to the trails! We are currently fund raising for the Velosolutions Pumptrack we are building at Randall Park.
One is a small Giant Tri bike. Full Ultegra drivetrain and with fresh elbow pads in the cockpit. This bike is in excellent condition and ready for racing! $600
2nd is a very nice Giant gravel / road bike. This one is labelled XS and is in excellent condition. It has disc brakes and is very light and ready to put the miles on! $800
Both of these bikes are located in Yakima and are ready to go!
Give Big is here and Soup Creek finally made the list! Your support will help us bring Soup Creek into the USFS trail system as the first purpose built bike trail on the Naches Ranger District. Donate today!

We are excited to finally present the opportunity to help fund Yakima's pump track. This will forever change Yakima's dot on the map.
As the spearhead of this effort, we at Single Track Alliance of Yakima are kicking off the Randall Park South fund with a donation of $5,000.

STAY Group MTB ride on Thanksgiving
This Thursday at 10am we will be meeting at the Yellow Gate parking lot on top of Konnowac Pass for a group ride. We'll hopefully pre-burn enough calories to devour a few plates of turkey dinner.
Expect 10-13 miles of rocky and rough singletrack, with around 1500ft of climbing. We are going to ride some new roughed in trails and some old established trails. It should be a good time!
Where: Yellow Gate Parking Lot on top of Konnowac Pass Rd
When: Thursday November 23rd @ 10 AM - 12 PM
What: STAY's inaugural Turkey Day shreddy
PSA:
1. Hunting season is here so grab your orange kit and be respectful of our fellow forest users. We’ve had all summer to ride so give them space to have an enjoyable hunt. There is a camp setup at the bottom of Soup Creek again. This group has been camping there for years so please avoid riding the lower section if necessary to stay out of their camp. We know it’s not ideal but they have become aggressive towards riders over the last couple of years and there’s currently nothing preventing them from camping there.
2. We recently had to tear out another rogue trail alteration. This activity needs to STOP. We are making real progress with USFS toward onboarding the trail. Rogue work will only serve to tarnish the reputation of the mt biking community and hurt our chances of getting more trails in the future. We would appreciate the chance to talk to the responsible parties. You obviously put some time into the work that was done and your motivation would be better served helping us than performing illegal work that we have to undo.
The CCC and STAY have convened and while the assault suspect has not been apprehended, we believe he has left the area. The parking lot has continued to be used throughout this last week and there have been no sightings or further incidents. Please consider the parking lot SAFE at this time. Here's a couple pictures taken this last Sunday out in the beautiful and desolate Rattlesnake Hills landscape.
TRAIL NOTICE !!:
Hello dear trail users,
We are happy to report that Konnowac Pass trailhead is OPEN!
Last week we closed the trail due to a violent incident and ongoing concerns for public safety.
We believe that the suspect is no longer in the area.
Please be safe out there. And please report any criminal or suspicious behavior to law enforcement. Thank you for your patience. See you on the trails!🙏🏽😎
PSA for Konnowac Pass -
There was an incident over the weekend that resulted in a mountain biker being assaulted and held at gunpoint. The person with the gun is still on the loose. He could be back at the Konnowac Pass trailhead at any time. (We believe he is staying nearby) please do not go up there until we have confirmation the threat has been handled. He was hallucinating during the assault and is considered armed and dangerous.

More information about the Rocky Top situation... kudos to the Yakima Herald for sorting through the drama and writing a story on this. Can we hold out hope to see trails re-opened? Always! Is it likely? We don't know.
Questions remain for Rocky Top trail access after further DTG Recycle closure An uneasy relationship between the controversial owner of a local landfill and three nonprofit organizations came to a head over the past two months, effectively closing one of Yakima's most
It was fun while it lasted.
Outdoors What's Happening: Oct. 4, 2023 DTG closes more trails
PSA: As many in the outdoor community know, Rocky Top has been in a state of flux for over a year now. There have been many changes to the trail system. The sale of the property and dump brought new land management. DTG Recycle owns the majority of the ground which includes most of the trails and dirt jump/pump track. The sale also coincided with a new conservation easement on the west parcels which is held by William O’Douglas Trail Foundation.
STAY has exhausted every avenue we can to try to keep the trail system functioning as a public resource. DTG has made a determination that no public access is allowed on their properties and trail users are considered to be trespassers. We wanted to get this info out to the public as soon as possible to prevent any issues for the recreational public and private landowners.
As of now we recommend that the public consider the entirety of the trail system closed. The only trail accessible from the parking lot is Wholly Moses. There is no access to the rest of the trails at Rocky Top regardless of the land they are on.
STAY no longer has permission to use, maintain, build, or repair trails at the Rocky Top trail system.
This trail system wouldn't have existed without the community who biked, ran, and walked these trails every day. Let's keep the community alive through our upcoming projects, the Randall Park South Pumptrack and the Konnowac Pass Trail system being developed with the Cowiche Canyon Conservancy.

It's hard to believe this was 8 years ago!
Local property owner's hospitality leads to miles of biking trails YAKIMA, Wash. - His hilltop property overlooking Naches Heights, Cowiche Canyon and much of western Yakima County is populated pretty much every non-rainy day by mountain bikers and trail runners
WE ARE CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. Will keep you guys posted.
Jumps never last! Legends never die!
Due to a mix-up in land use permissions, we have to cancel tomorrows work party at Rocky Top.
Also, all trails on DTG property are closed until further notice. Considering the extent of their lands, this includes the dirt jumps and all singletrack trails besides Wholly Moses and Walk N Roll.
We will keep everyone updated as progress is made! This was a great surprise to everyone.
Instead of the work party, we are all going to Single Hill to drink beer with Evergreen. See you at Single Hill tomorrow at 5:30pm.
Rocky Top Work Party announcement!
Thursday August 24th at 5pm. Meet at Rocky Top parking lot. We will be hiking out materials for sign installation and installing signs along the new trails. This will probably be a 3 hour commitment and require hiking 5-6 miles in all.
The temps will be nice and we should have a good time. Wear shoes you can hike in and bring water or whatever you want to drink or snack on.
Thanks and see you next Thursday at 5pm!
Hello trail friends! This is a PSA for Rocky Top.
There are lots of trails open at Rocky Top and we have been putting in new trails around the closed area. Wholly Moses is open. Walk N Roll is also open. Orange Harvester is open but completely rerouted over to Tooled N Schooled. Theres a new trail connecting Dumb n Dumber to Tooled n Schooled also. The new trails are very fresh and rough. We'll smooth them out this winter but in the meantime, they'll be a bit bumpy.
The only closed trails are Hahahahaha and Green Harvester. We are working on getting both of these trails re-opened as soon as possible.
We are in the process of changing the signage. Keep an eye out for an upcoming work party announcement!
Soup Creek update-
We need some help spreading the word about the decommissioned section of trail near the bottom. Someone has been removing the barrier, allowing riders into the closed section. It was abandoned because it retains water longer than the rest of the trail, is prone to rutting and there is no good way to manage the water.
We want to see Soup Creek become a legal system trail and have hopes of more trails there in the future. Rogue building and trail alterations only serve to hurt that cause. USFS has been very gracious in letting us manage the trail and we need the community to follow our lead.
