Healing Arts Physical Therapy

Over my 16 years of clinical experience in outpatient orthopedic practice, I have really come to love coaching and mentoring future Physical Therapists. From PT students to observers looking to get into PT school. My objective now is very clear; to grow my practice and bring on caring, motivated and professionally driven Physical Therapists that will continue my mission in showing the community the power of quality Physical Therapy.

Here is my current job add: We need a Physical Therapist to join our practice. New grads, new to outpatient, and experienced PTs are welcome apply. This position has a good deal of mentorship, guidance and development by the owners to help the PT provide the best patient experience and care. The owners have combined 32 years of experience working in outpatient practice and have a wealth of knowledge that they want to pass down to their staff. The mentorship we offer entails weekly case study discussions about your patients, developing patient evaluation skills, and practicing manual therapy and exercise techniques that will all have a profound impact on the patients you serve.

Excited to bring on my first Occupational Therapist to my PT practice. He wants to treat neurological conditions such as patients who have suffered strokes, traumatic brain injuries, parkinson's disease and MS. He also has a passion to help geriatric patient with balance problems. The OT will start in a few weeks. Its nice to expand my team of providers to help the patients of Yuba City!

Always looking to give mobility exercises that target multiple joints and lead to vitality in life. This is definitely one of those exercises!

Half kneel open book stretch:

Start by kneeling on one knee and other foot in front. Keep the front foot and knee pointed straight ahead while holding onto a foam roller (or chair). Also, focus on keeping the spine up straight. Keep one hand on the top of the foam roller while you rotate the spine and move the other arm to point behind you. Also, turn your head to follow the moving arm. Hold the position for a few seconds and return. Complete to the other side with same knee placement. After this change knee positions and rotated again to both sides.

They spend quality time with their patients (usually depending on the clinic you go to), and they develop positive relationships with patients to motivate them to live happier and healthier lives!

Job duties include under the direction of the Physical Therapist to perform guiding patients through exercise, setting up modalities such as electrical stimulation and hot/cold packs, cleaning the facility, doing laundry and printing out exercise handouts.

Position is part-time and need to fill Monday, Tuesday and Thursday schedule.

Meet Issa Willard, our newest Physical Therapist!

She is a 2019 graduate from Western Physical Therapy School
in Southern California. She is a native to this area,
growing up in a military family stationed at Beale Air Force Base.

Issa brings a lot to the plate at Healing Arts Physical Therapy through her empathy in orthopedic conditions to her athletic
experience. She is an avid soccer player and has a sound structure
on human movement and mechanics.

She also has a background in treating a wide variety of neurological disorders from her experience at a reputable facility called Casa Colina in Souther California.

Issa has already been with us for a few months now and I am pleased how she is treating her patients. I have heard nothing but good feedback from her patients. She spends quality one on one time with her patients and gets to know their problems well.

These exercises significantly relieved our patients foot pain!

She could hardly walk in the grocery store at the
start of her care. Now she can shop with ease.

They are simple exercises; they don't take a lot of
time or energy. However, they are very isolating to
muscles in our feet that are often underworked.

If you think about it, we spend most of the day in
shoes and our foot muscles are relatively relaxed.
In this case our feet are not getting much circulation
and the muscles in our feet end of not supporting the joints.

By doing these exercises you will support the joint
structure in your feet and allow for proper mechanics
and function.

ARCH LIFTS

Start with your foot on the floor. Raise up the arch of your foot while maintaining your big toe, ball of your foot and heel on the floor the entire time.

TOWEL CURLS - TOWEL SCRUNCHES

While seated, use a towel and draw it back towards you using your toes. Curl your toes inward.

Be sure to keep your heel in contact with the floor the entire time.
