Judge Ben Smith - 380th District Court
The 380th District Court comprises Collin County and is a general jurisdiction court that hears family law cases, felony crimes, and civil lawsuits.
Yesterday, I was presented with the United States Secret Service Director’s Recognition Award. Several agents, along with detectives from the Plano Police Department, visited and thanked me for helping them with their financial crimes investigations.
The United States Secret Service and Plano Police Department, in partnership, have worked tirelessly on behalf of victims of financial crimes and have achieved incredible results, recovering over eight million dollars in stolen funds over the past three years. With many financial crimes, time is the critical factor that determines whether stolen funds can be located, secured, and returned to victims. For our justice system to work effectively, judges must be available, no matter the hour, to provide judicial review when needed. It’s gratifying to receive recognition from these dedicated professionals, who have a much more difficult job than I. They truly deserve our respect and appreciation.
Happy Veteran’s Day! I’m grateful for all of our veterans, and especially thankful for my dad who served for 20 years in the Air Force!
10 years ago today, I was sworn in as Judge of the 380th District Court in Collin County. As you can see, I was ecstatic to begin my service to the citizens of Collin County. I still feel very blessed and grateful to serve.
It was another great evening last night at the Collin County Lincoln Day dinner. It was wonderful to see so many faithful members of the GOP come together for a great evening with Glenn Beck! I cannot believe it has been nearly a decade that I’ve had the great honor to serve as judge of the 380th District Court. I enjoyed seeing and speaking with so many supporters and other elected officials I have come to know over the years!
Please remember today is the last day for Early Voting. You can vote anywhere county wide. Please get out and support our GOP!
Happy 4th of July from our family to yours! I hope you enjoy this time with your family celebrating our great nation!
Happy National Day of Prayer! I was honored to be invited to attend chapel at Prestonwood Christian Academy, where they prayed over elected officials. It was very humbling to have my youngest son lead a prayer over me and the entire judiciary.
“First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time.”
