🙌 WHY BAD POSTURE HAPPENS!!
If you have a tendency to slouch and feel comfortable when you’re slumped over, it is because your body believes that a hunched spine is the most efficient position available to you based on how you move (or don’t move)
Also your resting posture will be determined / influence by
-poor work habits mixed in with poorly designed work environment
-asymmetrical patterns of body use (boxing, golfing, tennis, etc)
-postural adaptions from last injuries -adaptation to repetitive strain or emotional stress
😑All these things may lead to a reduction in your tissues capacity to lengthen and in turn make your body contort to less than optimal positions
The example I always use is what happens to your rhomboid tissue when you slouch : it ends STUCK in a lengthened position

NOTE: Just because the muscle is stuck in a lengthened position, it doesn’t mean that it knows how to lengthen. If anything it has a hard time lengthening more because it’s already near max length and there’s little stretch leftover
