Hi parents - pray you all well - you see when the children ask for boxes and funny things from home, it's for construction. The lessons were about planning this week - and without a plan you can't make things - like building a house - a plan / pattern for a jersey to make or knit it to size - so you see the houses the children made from the boxes - beautiful

Happy Mothers day to all the mothers out there. Our Grade "R" children made little gifts for their Mothers. We had a great big bush of Lavender outside our kitchen door and needed to be taken out and replaced with new plants. but what to do with all this nice smelling lavender. So decided that Mothers day is coming lets make something nice and smelly for our Moms. As you can see they did it all themselves and so excited a lot of them could not keep the surprise - Hope you enjoyed your cards your child made for you - but fun was had by all. We wish all our Mothers a blessed day and you doing an amazing job - Be Blessed

So so sorry but still not safe- we hate this - but we worried about our staff and children

06/08/2023

Hi all - I have been speaking to the transport operators and some parents and they say it's still unsafe tomorrow as the Taxi owners are gonna be in meetings again tomorrow - that's why this post is so late we were waiting for news on the street - we will not be open tomorrow for the safety of staff and children- as the staff all need transport to get to work

03/08/2023

Hello Parents and Guardians - We have been advised not to open Bonginkosi due to the taxi industry - it is not safe for our staff who will have to walk to work as there are no taxis as well as for our children. This is out of our control that we inform you we will not be open tomorrow. They even stoned a parents car coming to fetch her children that she could not drive the car due to the damage done.We do not want anyone's life in danger. We regret letting you know at such a late time but we been in contact with people in the know - with the hopes of us operating as always.

Welcome back to our children for the 3rd term on Mandela Day. Some of our children are back but some are still on holiday - it was very exciting to welcome them back. So to celebrate we spread Marie biscuits with icing sugar and topped it with 100 and 1000's (sprinkles). Look at the concentration on the small faces as they spread the icing on the biscuit. Needless to say there was no waste, all was eaten up they even tried to pick up each little wayward sprinkle.

While we were walking around on Valentine’s Day Ms Menze, the health inspector came to do an inspection of Bonginkosi and see if we were up to scratch. She was happy with the Centre and said she would be back the next day to come show our children how to wash their hands. We are so blessed that we have these people come and inform the children. After we teach the children how, and someone new comes to teach the same topic. It just re-enforces it and its not just us saying so.
We had Ms Menze, the Health Inspector with 3 ladies Sintu Makambi, Lulama Plamana, and Thabisa Fana from Environmental Health here to teach- Thank you so much we appreciate you all.

HAPPY VALENTIENS DAY TO ALL

A lot our children dressed in red to celebrate the day. As always we do a walk about - around the Educare singing and then down to the clinic and police station. All the dry children walk around the block then we leave the 3's to 4's behind and the Grade "O" and "R" classes walk down to the clinic where we hand over a goodies bag, as they far to busy to come have a cup or coffee or tea with us, we leave them with the goodies to make it for themselves. We sing to them and thank them for what they do for our children. We then march on to the Lingelethu West Police Station - were we hand over a goodie bag as well, also thanking them for their service in the community - The children enjoy it and we attract a lot of people who love to see the children enjoying themselves

Hello all. Well, yesterday was our end of the year. This year we never went out to a play park or anywhere as after covid the prices were so high that none of us could afford it or would want to pay that amount. So our end party we decided if we could not go out we would bring a carnival to Bonginkosi. So with 3 x jumping castles, bike races, duck blowing races, ball games, boxing bags, and many other games we had our own play park. from the babies to the Grade R class was outside having fun. As well as all this we had cold drink stands, cupcake stands, hotdog stands, and ice cream stands. real carnival style - children had elastic with disks on to (pay) for what they did (more so that the turns were fair for all. The children, staff, and students from the colleges who came to help out enjoyed the day. We also had some of our committee, Ps Eddie, Ps Charmaine, and Pastor Llewellyn Roberts visiting from DCC Durban and Kirsten. All that's left to say is be Blessed this Christmas season - Remember the reason for this season and be safe. Let 2023 be an even better year for all of us

This weekend was Heritage Day - a lot of our children came dressed on Friday for Heritage day. It was fun for all the staff and children - but due to load shedding and the internet being affected by Eskom we could not add photos before now
