Known as the father of the Zulu nation, King Shaka ka Senzangakhona was assassinated by his brother Dingaan on the 24 September 1828.
Over a period of almost 2 decades, Shaka had changed military strategy, claimed the throne, increased the size of the Zulu nation and caused a regional migration ( / )

The History of the Venda people of South Africa can be traced as far back as the 6th Century, to the establishment located at the meeting point of the Limpopo and Shashe Rivers. This became the Mapungubwe Kingdom.
In the 9th Century, under King Shiriyadenga, the kingdom was involved in the trading of gold and ivory with Egypt, China and India before it moved its headquarters northward in the 1300s.
Among the golden jewelry and figurines that were unearthed in the area is an 8000 year old golden rhinoceros, currently housed at the University of Pretoria, along with the rest of the Mapungubwe collection.
Mapungubwe (Hill of Jackals) was declared a UNESCO Heritage site in 2003.
African History. On the 1st of September 1969, Libya became a Republic after a 27 year old army captain - Muammar Gaddafi led a bloodless coup against King Idris.
King Idris had recently become King of the war-torn Libya after it achieved independence from Italy in 1951.
Gaddafi’s rule lasted until his death in 2011.
