⚠️Regular Verbs: For regular verbs, the past simple tense is formed by adding "-ed" to the base form of the verb.
Example:
Base form: walk
Past simple: walked
(e.g., "She walked to the store yesterday.")

⚠️Irregular Verbs: Irregular verbs have unique past tense forms that don't follow the standard "-ed" rule. They must be memorized individually.
Example:
Base form: go
Past simple: went
(e.g., "They went to the cinema last night.")

Usage:
1️⃣To describe actions that happened at a specific time in the past.
Example: "She studied French last year."
For a series of completed actions in the past.
Example: "He woke up, had breakfast, and went to work."

2️⃣To describe past habits or states.
Example: "She always played the piano when she was younger."
In reported speech when discussing what someone said in the past.
Example: "She said she liked the movie."

3️⃣Negative Form: To create a negative sentence in the past simple tense, use the auxiliary verb "did" (in the past) + "not" + the base form of the verb.
Example:
Positive: He worked hard.
Negative: He did not work hard. (or contracted form: He didn't work hard.)

4️⃣Question Form: To form a question in the past simple tense, invert the subject and the auxiliary verb "did." Use the base form of the main verb.
Example:
Statement: They watched a movie.
Question: Did they watch a movie?
