The Australasian Neurogastroenterology and Motility Association is an organisation for scientists and clinicians with a professional interest in the sub-speciality of gastroenterology that has recently become known as “neurogastroenterology”. ANGMA aims to facilitate, educate, represent and support those who carry out research or treat disturbances of neural function and motility of the gastrointestinal tract.

WOW! what an informative and comprehensive symposium on FGID! Lin Chang, Guy Boeckxstaens and Nathalie Vergnolle. Kicked off by Nick Talley bringing us up-to-date on using appropriate clinical classifications to inform management strategies and to develop new directions of assessing such complex disorders.

Welcome to Day 2 of FNM2020!

The future of GI and neurogastroenterology research is in safe hands going by some of the highlighted presentations from the Little Brain Big Brain 2020 meeting.

This morning, Alyce Martin presented recent findings on the bidirectional relationship between gut microbiome and serotonin and Heidi Staudacher convinced us that dietary approaches for IBS are the way to go!

From paramecium to koalas to humans, shaped by evolution in food preparation, bite forces, grains and milk additions in the diet and the relevantly recent 5-6 decades of nutrition induced ENS neuropathies.
