Yesterday morning, we enjoyed some yummy breakfast at Cafe' Musette, sipped our coffees, and celebrated the admin team here at Icaria Health. We are honoured to work with many children who are connected to the Royal Childrenโs Hospital (RCH).
Huxleyโs story from his Mum Kelly is just one of the many stories of our participants that beautifully captures what RCH means to these families and even some of our own staff. The Good Friday Appeal holds a special place in our hearts, so please give generously today and help us to celebrate kids who deserve to be celebrated today, and every other day, for their bravery, patience and smiles.

โHuxley has spent 233 days of his 15 months of life (just over half) at Royal Childrenโs Hospital. He was born with complex congenital heart disease, Pierre Robin Sequence, and a few other complications. He has had three open heart surgeries, two jaw surgeries, and one ENT surgery, with more surgeries to follow. The nurses at RCH very quickly became our second family. They hugged us while we cried, they laughed and celebrated the wins, and made sure we looked after ourselves as much as we do Hux. Without their love and support there is no way we could have made it this far through our journey. They are an incredibly special team of people, and we will forever be thankful for them. Not to mention the other families we've met along the way, the volunteers, the therapy staff, and everyone in between. We are so incredibly blessed to have the RCH. We will forever be grateful for the exceptional care and support ourselves and Huxley have received, and will continue to receive, at the RCH.โ

On 21 March, choose some socks that are going to get noticed!
They might be mismatched socks or your craziest and most colourful socks, whatever takes your fancy!
The idea is to start a conversation, so when people ask you about your socks you can tell them, โIโm wearing them to raise awareness of Down syndromeโ.
And then you can tell them everything you want them to know about Down syndrome.

There are many reasons why babies, children and adults may require a feeding tube. Tube feeding, also called enteral nutrition, is a way food and drink can get into the body if a person is unable to eat/drink or unable to eat/drink enough.
Food in liquid form, formula, fluids and medicine can be delivered into the stomach or small intestine through a feeding tube.
Our Team of Speech Pathologists, Dietitians and Occupational Therapists are able to support tube feeding and inclusive mealtimes. If you would like more information about how we can help you, please don't hesitate to give us a call on 02 6021 5165 or place a referral via our website!
