Emsella Chair: Introducing the Emsella Chair.

BTL EMSELLA is the HIFEM® procedure, that utilizes electromagnetic energy, at a high frequency, to cause pelvic floor muscle stimulation completely non-invasively.

This treatment option may be helpful for both women and men with bladder control or sexual health concerns.

A single session brings you thousands of intense pelvic floor contractions that you would not be able to do on your own. These contractions are very helpful when it comes to muscle strengthening and re-education.

At Healthfocus Physiotherapy optimising patient care is at the heart of our practice.

For this reason, we perform a thorough pelvic health assessment prior to considering if the Emsella may form a part of your treatment plan.

If your pelvic health is on your mind book an appointment with Simone Bowler today.

Concussion focus.

Why is assessment post concussion important?

A detailed assessment after concussion is important to determine a person’s functional impairments and symptoms, to then prescribe an individualised rehabilitation plan.

If athlete’s are not guided through a return to play, with an understanding of the diversity of symptoms that may present, they risk prolonging symptoms, and spending more time on the sidelines than they need to.

Common post concussion symptoms can include headaches, dizziness, oculomotor coordination concerns, fatigue, brain fog, sensitivity to light and sound, difficulty sleeping, anxiety, and being more emotional than usual, among others.

We know that if an athlete has not fully recovered and returns to play and sustains another concussion the sequelae can be far worse and recovery will be much longer.

Assessment will also identify those with more serious concerns or pathology who require further specialist review and referral.

Michael Bowler is our physiotherapist experienced in Concussion management.

Our Olympians give our young athletes inspiration to try and achieve.

We all have our heroes. For some of us our heroes are competing in Paris.

For others, we can think back to our time as kids growing up being inspired by the likes of Debbie Flintoff-King, Kieran Perkins and Cathy Freeman.

We love the Olympics, not just because of the traditional sports like athletics, swimming, cycling , soccer and hockey.

But also every four years we get a window into the more extreme sports that we normally would see.

We marvel at the skateborders and BMX cyclists and how these athletes are incredible in their own right.

What sports have caught your eye in Paris in 2024?

The Olympic Games is not just a coming together of the world's greatest athletes.

It is a coming together of communities from all over the world. Our Athletes represent us on many levels.

There are athletes in the Australian team from our community on the Border, from communities where we have grown up in or lived in.

Many of us will have family members or friends that we know and take a special interest in their journey feeling that they are representing us.

This will be the case for many people all over the world and what makes the Olympics such a special celebration.

Paris Olympics 2024

Our Olympians represent sporting excellence, those who have reached the top of their game to compete against the best in the world.

We acknowledge those who have dedicated many long hours pursuing their dream and not quite reached the final stage. All athletes engage in a journey that is challenging.

There are no guarantees of selection. It is this thrill to challenge and improve oneself that takes courage.

We acknowledge the courage and dedication of all those who have pursued a dream. Who have taken themselves out of their comfort zone to extend themselves athletically and personally.

It is this attitude to take a risk that pushes our society to achieve in general.

We should celebrate and congratulate all those who have embarked on the journey.

Remain healthy and manage your pain this winter.

Seeing a physiotherapist during winter can help you to manage some of those pre-existing injuries or ni**les.

If you are in pain, or have injury ni**les, come and see our team today to start your journey back to your best.
