Our Story
The National Dog Trainers Federation (NDTF) was established in 1993 as a representative and educational organisation for the dog training industry. In partnership with Precise Training the NDTF has been facilitating Australia’s premiere dog trainer’s education and is currently the sole provider of 2214VIC Certificate III in Dog Behaviour and Training.
The NDTF is now the premiere representative body in Australia for dog trainers from all fields. The NDTF represents trainers from such interesting and diverse areas of speciality as:
• Scent detection dogs
• Demonstration, TV and film work
• Sporting dogs
• Search and rescue dogs
• Assistance dogs
• Sporting dogs
• Obedience dogs,
• Law enforcement dogs
The NDTF aims to provide a channel of communication for all dog trainers, with a view towards facilitating meaningful discussions amongst the dog training community with increased opportunities for education we endeavour to empower all trainers towards the end goal of more ethically, scientifically and morally sound practices.
The NDTF acts as an adviser to Government (State, Federal and Local), industry, and also the private sector. A great number of the NDTF Board of Consultants are considered to be truly world class in their specialist areas, and these experts shape the opinion of the NDTF’s position towards industry related issues.
Membership to the NDTF has a wide range of benefits including formal recognition and accreditation to both the public and your peers. Furthermore, with the most stringent standards for membership in the dog training industry, you can take real pride in being a member.
The NDTF encourages trainers to work together, promoting ever-increasing levels of professionalism, integrity and communication. The NDTF promotes and provides ongoing learning in the many specialist fields of dog training.
