CONGRATULATIONS RHYDIAN COWLEY (MHS 2008)
Mixed Marathon Walk Relay, Paris Olympics

Australian duo Jemima Montag and Rhydian Cowley have created their own slice of history, claiming bronze in the inaugural Olympic marathon race walk in Paris.

With thousands lining the course with the Eiffel Tower in the background, the Australians methodically moved their way through the field to stand on the podium. Cowley led off the relay walk and was ninth after the first leg.

Montag then steamed to the lead at the midpoint before Cowley completed the third leg in fourth spot. The 26-year-old Montag made ground on the last leg to secure bronze in two hours, 51 minutes and 38 seconds.

Erol Akarsu has had over 30 years of experience in risk management, working in the oil and gas industries globally.

Both alumni work closely within the confines of standards and regulations in their respective industries and medical field.

Warren’s involvement at MHSOBFC has extended across multiple decades and multiple roles, most notably:

* MHSOBFC U/17s Coach - 1982 to 1996 (7 Premierships & WJFA Life Membership)

Warren has also been extensively involved with MHSOB Cricket Club, and the school cricket program throughout this duration. Tickets include 3 course dinner and premium beverage package.

MHSOBA Annual Scholarship Program 2024 - Now Open

We are pleased to announce the this year's MHSOBA Annual Scholarship Program is now open.

A variety of Scholarships are open to current MHS students and Old Boys completing tertiary studies.

ANNUAL DINNER RESCHEDULED - NOW WEDNESDAY 30 OCTOBER

Dear Gentlemen

Please be advised our Annual Dinner planned for 5 June has been rescheduled.

While a number of Old Boys purchased tickets, registrations have not met our venue’s minimum requirements. We do not anticipate a marked increase in registrations, and have received a significant number of apologies from Old Boys travelling abroad at this time.

Given these considerations, the Committee has rescheduled the Dinner to Wednesday 30 October.

We have not taken this decision lightly, and thank all Old Boys who purchased tickets or tables. Your purchases will be refunded in full.

Particular thanks guest speaker James Zong (MHS 2014) who has made himself available for the new event date.

FUNERAL SERVICE - Dr Alan Gregory AM

Alan Gregory, devoted husband of Beryl, beloved father of Michael Gregory, Elizabeth Gregory and Christian Gregory, father in law of Nick Loftus and Anna Fitzpatrick and adored grandfather of Beatrix, Ignatius, Sophia and Isabella.

A man of true kindness, humility , grace and generosity who loved and did not judge.

May he rest in peace and rise in glory.

His funeral will be held at St George’s Malvern, 296 Glenferrie Rd, Malvern on Monday 6th of May at 11am.

About the Program
The Green Maroon & Black's Junior Leadership Program (JLP) aims to expose all Year 10 students to the possibilities of taking on leadership positions within the classroom, within the school, within the community and within their peer group, building on the existing structures that operate.

Building self‐esteem through hard work, accomplishment, and recognition are vital factors in the leadership model. By taking on positions of responsibility at school and in their communities, students will feel genuinely good about themselves. A 2004 study at the University of California Santa Barbara found that people with leadership roles in high school are more likely to hold managerial positions as adults, earning higher incomes than those in non-leadership roles.
