Change is happening. Will UniMelb follow suit? π’
ANU took a bold step by reviewing their investments to exclude arms manufacturers. A decision made after months of powerful protests on their campus, where students demanded that their university align its investments with values of peace and human rights.
Major banks are also stepping up, as Commonwealth Bank recently announced the cessation of loans for climate culprits. Proving that institutions can be responsible in managing their impact on the world.
So, what about us? Itβs time for the University of Melbourne to follow suit. We know change is possible when we stand together β just look at what our peers have achieved. Weβre calling on UniMelb to divest from industries that harm our planet and our communities.
Add your voice to our petition and letβs show that we wonβt settle for anything less than a university that leads with integrity and responsibility. Link in bio π

Community legal centres are calling on the government to step up
