Fresh in from Frank Cornelissen, and the lava laden slopes of Mt Etna, Sicily!

Why we adore these wines…

Frank Cornelissen is one of the world’s most wholistic and considered winegrowers. Each bunch, grown on their 24-hectare estate in the northern valley of Etna, is tended to and as necessary, tailored by hand. Each wine, from fermentation through aging to bottling, is cradled as delicately as possible, free from oak or any other influence external to their unique territorial upbringing.

Frank’s single vineyard ‘Munjabel’ and ‘Magma’ releases are a stunning examination of geological diversity, likened to the expressive distinguish of Burgundy’s Côtes-de-Nuits, or Piemonte’s Barolo communes.

The famed ‘Susucaru’ wines, as well, while slightly more voluminous in each release, are equally expressive of this incredible landscape and the philosophy through which they are raised.

Please note* Due to extremely low yields last year, there will be no 2023 release of the Susucaru Rosso. While this is reflected in our current holdings, the new ‘22 Susu is ‘here for a good time, not for a long time’.

Grillo made two ways by Alessandro Viola here, both naturally, from high above the coastline on the northwestern tip of Sicily.

2021 ‘Note di Bianco’ - a nervy, succulent and lightly fleshed snapshot of sea-breeze and sun

2021 ‘Sinfonia di Bianco’ - a rich and deepened, seven-month skin-infused amber, brimming with honeyed yellow fruits, herbal high-tones and flecks of salted nuttiness.
