Hello everyone🙏

I'm Priyanka from India. I'm Masters of cyber security graduate. I did enjoy all my student life at the beautiful (waurn ponds campus ). I'm very excited to be continuing student Ambassador for Study Geelong 2023. I've started my Australian journey in beautiful and pleasant city called Geelong.

Geelong is a great place to live and study. As an international student I have adopted Australian culture by living in between friendly Geelong people. Geelong is rich in history, art and culture. I love to live in Geelong because people in Geelong have access to cosmopolitan culture if you live in the inner city and coastal or rural culture if you head to Bellarine.

In Geelong, beaches are my favourite as I can go to beach when ever I want, to enjoy the nature. Morning walks are really peaceful at the Geelong beaches.

Would you like to know about Geelong? Then you can always come back to see what's happening in Geelong.

Bluestone: 150 Years of the Dennys Lascelles Woolstore is an honest account of the colonisation of the Geelong/Djilang region and events leading up to the opening of the woolstore. The exhibition tells the stories of those who have walked these halls and explores the progress of Geelong/Djilang and those who lived here through the ages.

On 1 August 1872 the C. J Dennys & Co Woolstore opened, adorning the corner of Moorabool and Brougham Streets. At the time of opening, the basalt bluestone woolstore was the second largest store in Victoria and by many accounts the “most elaborate”.

The Woolstore sits on Wadawurrung Country on the site of an ancient water way, a place of cultural significance. With invasion, Wadawurrung Peoples’ lives changed forever, and many stories are captured in this exhibition.

When the Woolstore was opened, it was an innovation in colonial architecture, with advanced design for lighting and ventilation. The bluestone came from Fyansford quarries (with the dressed portion from Ballarat) and the bricks came from the kiln in West Geelong.

Bluestone shares forgotten and evocative stories, some we are still excavating, just like the tunnels that used to run under Brougham Street.

When: Until 1 August 2023
Where: National Wool Museum
Wadawurrung Country, 26-32 Moorabool Street, Geelong 3220

Get lost in a maze of mirrors. See the world in a new light when renowned installation artist Keith Courtney brings his 700 square-metre-wide Kaleidoscope to Geelong this May.

Weighing 70 tonnes and made of glass, mirrors, steel and moving prisms, the critically acclaimed Kaleidoscope will call the Johnstone Park Forecourt home from 13 May - 18 June.

Community members will enter a new world of dazzling white light during the day and everchanging, deep colours and light reflections at night. A different space to explore, contemplate and reflect for the outgoing and adventurous.

Manufactured in South Geelong, this immersive work is coming full circle returning to its birth city.

Hey there!

I’m Sarbjeet ()but everyone calls me Sunny. Some of you may know me from last year and I’m really excited to share that I’m a continuing student ambassador for Study Geelong for 2023 😇.

I grew up in India and moved to Australia to pursue my higher studies after graduating from high school. I am currently in my fourth year of Civil Engineering degree, studying in Deakin University (Geelong).

I am an outdoorsy person. Apart from being engrossed in my laptop, I like being outside. Whether its early morning coffee run ☕️ or afternoon beach walk 🚶🏻, you’ll find me ready for it.  Geelong has such a friendly vibe with its beautiful beaches, world class food and lots of places to explore.

Along with Study Geelong, I’m the current elected student council member for Deakin, an Ambassador for Engineers Australia and the President of Deakin University Indian Club Geelong (DUICG).

The peaceful environment of Geelong compliments its beauty, which results in it becoming an amazing study destination. I am very excited that I am joining Study Geelong in exploring my version of Geelong. I am sure you will love it!  ❤️

If you spot me around, please feel free to tap my shoulder to say hi! ✨

National Wool Museum✨

Here the story of wool is brought to life - told by those who lived it and through the sights and the sounds of heritage machines weaving carpets and knitting socks. The smell of lanolin fills the air, fresh fleece beckons your touch and the authentic surrounds of the shearing shed immerse you in the Australian wool story. The National Wool Museum experience is more than just wool.

Here history, science, fashion, handcraft and art come together.
