Victoria’s Jason Fry has won the Rosebrook ASH Stud & Stan Bowd - Custom Made Saddlery National Maturity Series 35 with Ashley Gorton’s four year-old mare OAKTON LODGE SUDDEN IMPRESSION (OAKTON LODGE SUDDEN IMPACT/ DEVILBEND PRINCESS).

They take home a lovely, handcrafted trophy saddle donated by Stan Bowd Saddlemaker, a stallion service fee to ERVINES ROLLEX donated by Brett Welsh and Melanie Marshall-Welsh, a trophy rug and garland.

They also receive the Maturity Plate and the award for Highest-Placed Mare, with a stallion service fee to STRUAN PARKS JUST A MOMENT – HSH donated by Jay Charnock.

Christmas is the time for giving and although times are tough for many of us, they are particularly tough for my close friends Pete and Mel Britt.

If you’ve ever met them, you’d know what generous, kind and salt of the earth people they are. They’d literally give you the shirt off their back and go without, if you needed it. Pete is a talented, highly regarded yet humble saddle maker and a genuine top bloke.

Bred by Brian and Kayleen Sutton, Lakeside, Qld, and owned by the Pollard family, Rockhamption, Qld, Nashville joins a group of only six horses in ASH history which have won both the 3YO Futurity and 4YO Maturity.

Two days after taking out the 2 year-old Snaffle Bit Futurity at Inverell, Cole Moxey has won the Rosebrook ASH Stud and Stan Bowd Saddlemaker National Maturity Series 33 with HUNTER VIEW OAKS VENUS (KYDRAS ACRES MERCURY/OAKS RHYTHM).

We just had to share this gorgeous photo (taken by White Lotus Photography) of little Allirah having her first ride in her Mum’s saddle. Allirah and the saddle belong to a long standing and valued customer. Beside her are her dad’s boots and great grandmother’s riding crop. The next generation that is sure to be ‘Riding proud in a Bowd’. The saddle will be hers one day and will last long enough to be passed onto her children too!
We hope her beautiful smile brings one to your face as you admire her perched atop of this saddle. We see our customers as part of our extended family and we pass our congratulations on to Abbie and her family 💕
