And in our very last grand final of 2024 the 21/2 boys gave it their all to come back from 1 down to equalise just before full time, then held on throughout extra time to take the game to penalties. Another nail biting penalty shootout - incredible nerve from both teams. In the end our boys held on to win an amazing grand final. Commiserations to Concord who have had an incredible year in this comp and hearty congrats to our lads who came from third place to win their way through to be champions!
In the tightest of grand finals in which Hurlo was always going to be the winner, it took 11 penalty kicks from each team to decide the winner. Commiserations to the AAS1B team and congratulations to the AAS1A team. Great game from both teams down to the nail biting finale.
And how better to celebrate the end of season 2024 than with a bunch of instaframe photos. Choose your favourite!
A big thank you to everyone who bought tickets in our raffle and to Aris from for helping us to draw it from the historic barrel (that barrel that helped us get our amazing Bill Brackenbury Pavilion through many previous raffles). We raised more than $3000 which will help with great programs for next season like our fabulous skills sessions. Prize winners have been notified.
And that’s a wrap for the Hurlo bbq for season 2024 - so many sausages - more than 600 today. Here we have the fabulous bbq crew for today, our amazing comp secretary and bbq coordinator Sinead being presented with her very own Hurlo bbq apron and the last sausage of the season. Thank you to all the volunteers from all our teams across the season, Sinead for co- ordinating and Billy and Wilma for organising all the supplies.
Some fabulous award winners and Hurlo!
Congratulations to all our award winners and long service medal recipients - we will have a full@list soon but here are a few photos from today.
And here are our mighty u7 Little Lions - amazing games in the u7World Cup from Morocco, USA, Germany, Brazil and France and of course our 2024 Winners Spain
There was an incredible atmosphere for the whole of the u7 World Cup with brilliant close games on the outer stadiums, and a huge crowd who cheered on France and Spain in a nail biter - never in the whole history of our u7 World Cup has it looked like coming down to the Spectatorspectacle as the decider and the parents were getting nervous!
Our u7 World Cup is a season highlight and always a crowd pleaser. Today we had the final played out between the powerhouses of European football Spain and France, and with outstanding expert commentary from our special guest commentator with the best turn of phrase, Mr Mark Slocum. There was a huge crowd and a buoyant mood throughout the whole game!
Our U6 LittleLions show off their end of season shirts. Aren’t they fabulous!
