Charlotte Le Lievre talks to Castlemaine Pride about Q***r Socialist Country, a love for regional towns and bringing her Trio to Q+ HUB - Vibrant Q***r Arts, Street Party!

What are you bringing to Pride?
Charlotte: Charlotte Le Lievre trio will be bringing some q***r, socialist country music. We draw upon a diverse array of early country and folk music styles to share stories and songs that connect with the authenticity of human experience, navigating grief, joy and collective struggle.

What other event are you most excited about seeing?
Charlotte: The trio and I are really looking forward to watching the other bands at the street party on Mechanics Lane and dancing with you all to Social Disco and DJ Assworth.

What excites you about the future of LGBTQIA+ diversity and/or visibility in your community?
Charlotte: I'm really excited to see that q***r events are thriving in regional parts of Australia. I spent a lot of time living in regional towns like Broken Hill, Lismore and Broome. It's amazing to see the way that q***r events and celebrations have evolved in these places over the years, carving out space for visibility and making it safer for younger q***r folx.
