Beyond its religious importance to the Christians, it is home to numerous museums and a vast library that houses an extensive collection of Islamic literature and manuscripts. Interestingly, as European powers colonized various Muslim nations, a substantial number of artifacts, religious collections, and books were brought to the Vatican, making it a treasure trove of Islamic heritage.

Raphael's iconic "The School of Athens" (1510) painting, adorning the Pope's chambers, features esteemed intellectuals, including Ibn Rushd (Averroes), a 12th-century polymath from Cordoba, Spain. Averroes, a renowned doctor, jurist, and philosopher, penned extensive works on law, medicine, and philosophy, inspiring subsequent thinkers.

Averroes' presence in the painting signifies his pivotal role in introducing Aristotle's works to Western Europe, lost since the Roman Empire's collapse. This underscores the profound impact of Islamic knowledge on the European Renaissance.

Between 750 and 1100, Baghdad flourished as the epicenter of learning, with Muslim scientists and artists pioneering revolutionary advances. This knowledge radiated to Spain and eventually Europe, shaping the Renaissance.

Ibn Rushd (Averroes)' writings on family and community law, rooted in the Prophet Muhammad's (peace be upon him) teachings and illuminated by the four prominent schools of Islamic jurisprudence - Hanafi, Shafi, Maliki, and Hanbali - significantly influenced the development of doctrines in Rome during that era.

This enduring legacy highlights the profound impact of Islamic scholarship on European intellectual history, demonstrating the rich cultural exchange and cross-pollination of ideas between Islamic and Western civilizations.

This morning, I had a peach for breakfast. It seemed so insignificant, just a simple fruit to be consumed and discarded.

But then I visited the Roman Colosseum and stumbled upon a museum exhibit that put things into perspective. On display were peach pits, carelessly tossed into the drains by spectators nearly 2000 years ago. Those mighty civilizations have fallen, and their bodies vanished in the sand.
Yet, the humble peach pit endures, a testament to the transience of the human being who is the consumer but in the end is consumed. It's a reminder that even the smallest, most seemingly insignificant things can outlast us all. How fleeting is human greatness when a peach pit can outlive him?

Alhamdulillah, an extraordinary weekend in Canberra, the capital city! The highlights included our team from Daarul Arqam visiting four masaajid, participating in a fundraiser and auction, delivering talks, and forming many new friendships. The most heartwarming moment was witnessing the congregational Fajr prayer, with rows upon rows of musalees united in worship. A truly blessed experience Alhamdulillah!

It was a humbling experience to step into Ustaadh Saalim's place and address his students at Sidra Gardens College after his passing. The students' heartfelt questions - 'Where is our teacher now?' and 'How can we let him know we love him?' - touched our heart. Their pure and innocent souls are a testament to the lasting impact of a true teacher, who forever leaves an imprint on the lives of his students.

▪️It expiates the sins of the previous year

▪️It was obligatory before Ramadaan became ordained in the 2nd year of hijrah and thereafter became an optional fast.

▪️It was the most sought out date by the Prophet (SAW) to fast than any other optional fast.

▪️Rasul Allah (SAW) found the Jews of Medina fasting the 10th of Muharram.
He was told it was on this day that Moosa (AS) was liberated from Firoun. He said: "We are closer to Moosa than you and ordered the Sahaabah to fast. He added that add a day before it or after it in fasting to be different."

On Sunday, our Rush HQ event was electric! 40 boys gathered for an action-packed day of friendly competition, spiritual growth, and inspiration. The energy was palpable as the DA boys faced off in a thrilling tournament, showcasing their skills and teamwork. M***i Zeeyad then led a captivating session, sharing the remarkable story of Mus'ab bin Umair, a great youth icon in Islamic history. The boys were fully engaged, absorbing valuable lessons on courage, perseverance, and dedication. The grand finale after some delicious pizza was a wrestling competition that left everyone in awe. With huge smiles and renewed motivation, the boys departed, already looking forward to the next gathering!
