From the 1st July 2023, there will be an increase of indicative fee schedule for the independent medical practitioners at Mackie Road Clinic. There will also be an increase to the MBS rebate that each consultation attracts, for those patients eligible for medicare rebate. Specific figures on both are detailed in the link below.

Introducing Dr Tiro Othomile!
The Mackie Road Clinic team are delighted to let our patients and community know that Dr Tiro Othomile (MBBS, FRACGP) is now consulting at our practice. Dr Othomile is a passionate General Practitioner, known for his gentle approach, who has experience practicing in both rural and metro Victoria and has particular interest in Men’s Health, Chronic Disease and Aged Care.

He will be consulting at Mackie Road Clinic Wednesdays (including evening) and Fridays.

We will be operating at reduced hours over the festive period. Please see our hours of operation below. The Mackie Road Clinic team would like to take this opportunity to wish all of our patients a joyous and relaxing festive break, and thank-you for your ongoing support.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Please note, from 1st October 2022 our GPs will introduce a new indicative fee schedule for all consults. Our fees have not been revised for more than three years, and yet, this was not an easy decision for us.

Unfortunately we are faced with challenges such as the ten-year freeze in Medicare rebates and increasing business and staffing costs. We have had to make these changes to maintain financial security in order to enable us to invest in the practice to continuously improve the service that we offer to you, our patients.

The Mackie Road Clinic family are delighted to announce that Dr Ashleigh Keating will be joining our team in May. Dr Keating studied Psychology at the University of Sydney before moving to Dublin to do her Medical training. She studied at the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland, graduating with honours in a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery and Bachelor of Obstetrics. After spending some time in Ireland working as a psychiatric registrar, she returned to Australia, where she completed her fellowship of General Practice in Rural New South Wales.

Ashleigh's special interests include working with children and their families, womens health and psychology. She is passionate about preventative medicine, nutrition, weight loss and holistic care. With the recent easing of mask and isolation restrictions for Covid-19, a gentle reminder that that as a Healthcare service that serves many immunocompromised and vulnerable patients, Mackie Road Clinic is considered a higher risk/sensitive setting.
As such, please ensure that you continue to wear masks when visiting the clinic, alert reception to any symptoms you may have (regardless of Negative RAT) and do not visit the clinic if you are a household contact of a positive Covid-19 Case.

HAPPY FRIDAY TO OUR COMMUNITY!

Mackie Road Clinic are delighted to announce that from the 6th April, Dr Adrian Brodsky (MD, FRACGP) will be consulting at Mackie Road Clinic on Wednesdays . Adrian received his medical degree from the University of Melbourne. He trained as a GP in rural Victoria where he obtained his fellowship in 2020. He has completed additional training in Emergency Medicine and Anaesthetics and continues to practice as a GP Anaesthetist in Gippsland.

He has a special interest in cardiovascular disease assessment and prevention and men's health as well as minor surgery.

The Victorian Government has announced that from midnight on Friday masks will no longer be required in many settings. A gentle reminder that as a healthcare setting, all on-site visitors and staff (aged 12+) at Mackie Road Clinic will continue to be required to wear a mask.

Please do not attend your appointment if you have a fever, cough, sore throat, sneezing, runny nose, or any other cold and flu like symptoms that can also be associated with Covid-19.

Our clinic treats many immune-compromised members of the community and it is important that we continue to provide them as safe and risk-free a healthcare environment as possible.

We appreciate your understanding.
