Coffee with a Cop is a monthly casual catch-up that takes place all over Monash City. Residents meet their local police officers and learn more about community safety and understand what police do to support our community.

From Monday, 26th August, Health Club will be running a Wear It Purple Day circuit for the entire week, as a part of our Wear It Purple Day celebrations!

Our vision at Active Monash is ‘Participate Your Way’, and we invite our Active Monash community to do just that this year and join our Active Purple Circuit in our Health Clubs!

You can find the circuit around each of our gyms, as well as take a copy home to complete at home, or out in the park with friends and family.

Our Holmesglen IPP Students have been working hard on their Pool Lifeguard skills ahead of their course this August! We wish them all the best!

In partnership with and , we are half way through our forth year of the Integrated Practical Placement Program. Our role is to provide the opportunity to gain employment-ready skills and industry recognised qualifications through extensive practical work placement in our Active Monash facilities.

📣Our Lifeguards work to create a safe and welcoming environment at all of our aquatic facilities. Lifeguard Appreciation Day is an occasion to recognise and honour the incredible dedication and hard work of Lifeguards everywhere.

🌊Lifeguarding is not only about watching the pool. Lifeguards ensure everything behind the scenes run smoothly. From cleaning our changerooms hourly, to getting shoes wet cleaning filters, our Lifeguards are always on the move.

Life Saving Victoria (LSV) are conducting a two-day 'Pool Lifeguard' course on Saturday 22, and Sunday 23 August at our Monash Aquatic & Recreation Centre. Spaces are limited.

AUSactive’s Quality Business Accreditation is a formal recognition process in which a business meets predefined criteria and quality standards, assessed by an independent accreditation body.

Active Monash Manager, Tony Oulton, said the Accreditation with AUSactive was an important step forward for the three centres in showcasing their focus on service excellence and industry-leading best practice.

💧❗️Anyone can drown, no one should❗️💧

Today is World Drowning Prevention Day.
This global advocacy event is dedicated to raising awareness about drowning.

Sadly, we’ll be reminded of the hundreds of Australian families that
lose loved ones to drowning every year. The Glen Waverley Civic Centre will be illuminated in blue as we recognise these families and communities.

Globally, drowning has caused over 2.5 million deaths in the last decade. The highest drowning rates occur among children aged 1-4 years, followed by children aged 5-9 years. Being among the 10 leading causes of death for children aged 5-14 years.

At Active Monash, we prioritise water safety. Our team says preventing fatal and
non-fatal incidents is possible when we take responsibility for our own safety in and around water by:

• participating in swimming and water safety lessons
• understanding the risks and knowing how and when to enter the water safely
• supervising children and other vulnerable people in aquatic environments
• knowing that this is the responsibility of community, families, friends and carers.

🐳Can you collect all of Minky's Stickers?🐳
🎉During the Games period of Monday, 29 July - Sunday, 8 September 2024, Minky's Swim School students can collect an A5 card at Swim School Desk and at Reception!🎉

📅Each week of the Games, for 6 weeks total, there will be a new sticker to collect!
🌟Kids can their fill in the stickers on the Minky's card, or take stickers to place on their drink bottle, scooters, backpack, lunchbox... you name it!

⭐ Thanking Siew for 16 Years of Service! ⭐

Many of you would recognise our much-loved Tai Chi Instructor, Siew. She had consistently taught Tai Chi 7 days a week and her last day with us was Friday 14 June.

We are incredibly grateful to Siew's hard work in teaching Tai Chi. Her 16 years of service is a testament to her dedication to spreading the benefits of Tai Chi in the community.

We have no doubt Siew will be missed and wish her all the best in her future endeavors!
