With the 2023 / 2024 summer season coming to a close at Pascoe Vale as of Sunday March 17, we here at the centre would love to thank you all for your support throughout the season.

With 500+ pups attending the final event, 'Pups by the Pool,' we are so thankful for our loving community that we get to share this facility with you.

From Movie by the Pool events, to Family Fun Days, Pascoe Vale hosted it all this summer, and we can't wait to do it all again for you next season!

Please stay connected through our social page with updates on future events, opening days and hours to be communicated for future seasons.

With some nice weather coming our way tomorrow, see an update on our opening hours below:

With the Pups by the Pool event occurring this Sunday, this will be the final day of opening for our lovely site this season!

With the weekend looking to heat up significantly, see below the opening hours as well as some tips when coming down to visit us here at Pascoe Vale:

Saturday March 9 - 39 degrees - 10.00 AM - 7.00 PM
Sunday March 10 - 38 degrees - 10.00 AM - 7.00 PM
Monday March 11 - 38 degrees - 10.00 AM - 7.00 PM
Tuesday March 12 - 25 degrees - 11.00 AM - 7.00 PM (Oak Park has a carnival)

With this in mind, please see some tips below for the extreme heat over the weekend:

- Ensure you get in early to avoid potential waiting lines in front of the facility 🙂
- Ensure to keep hydrated and keep your children hydrated 🥤
- Wear sunscreen and protective clothes whilst enjoying a day in the sun 🧴

Due to the warmer weather and Oak Park and Coburg Olympic running school carnivals, Pascoe Vale outdoor pool will open at 11 am on Monday 12, and Tuesday 13 February.

While swimming is fun and a great way to stay fit and active, sometimes germs can contaminate the pool water, which can make people sick.

• Do not swim if you have diarrhoea or have had diarrhoea in the past two weeks.
• Avoid swallowing pool water.
• Shower and wash with soap, especially your bottom, before swimming.
• Wash your hands with soap after going to the toilet or changing a nappy.
• Change nappies in nappy change areas only.

As the weather gets warmer and we spend more time at our local pools remember follow the five healthy swimming steps to help keep our pools clean and safe for everyone.

Pascoe Vale Outdoor Pool is nearing capacity.
As we are experiencing a lovely day here at Pascoe Vale, we are getting close to the maximum number of patrons in the facility. Wait lines may apply.
We are lucky in Active Merri-bek that we have a range of pools that are also open with, Brunswick Baths, Coburg Leisure Centre and Coburg Olympic Swimming Pool all available for use.
We thank you for using our centre and please stay tuned for further updates.

With beautiful weather on the way for this weekend, it's a great opportunity to give some important insights about how our centre gets to capacities and some of the important information to remember when making your way down to Pascoe Vale.

Firstly, capacities are reached by:
- Staff to patron ratios – Through our governing body LSV, ratios have been implemented to ensure all patrons are safe within our facilities, and all staff feel comfortable whilst watching the water
- Total centre numbers – Even with staff to patron ratios, every facility has a total occupancy number that is deemed safe in their facility. Once that number is reached, the facility is deemed at capacity

Why do we follow the above? Well that’s easy, it’s to ensure that we are keeping our community and our people safe at all times. That is our main priority and will be the reason why we make the decisions we make!

Secondly, important tips to remember this weekend and for any upcoming warm days:
- A large portion of the community comes to Pascoe Vale to enjoy our services, please understand that if we hit capacity, waiting lines may apply. In saying that, our staff will continue to work hard to get you in as quick as possible
- Keep an eye on social media for any updates throughout the day
- Get in early to try and avoid waiting lines
- Keep hydrated and sun smart in the heat - Carry a water bottle, wear sunscreen and seek shade where you can
- Respect goes both ways. Staff love seeing the community in our site but they want to come to work knowing they will be safe and respected
- Watch around the water is key to your child’s safety. We want all children having fun and retuning home safely, so please keep your eyes on your child whilst around water

Once work is complete and the power is returned, the team will work to get the Centre back up and running and ready for the public. Stay tuned to our socials for a confirmed re-opening time.

The works are scheduled to finish at approximately 3.00 pm, with an opening time to be communicated on the day.
We are lucky within Active Merri-bek that we have multiple facilities for our community to enjoy, they include: Brunswick Baths Coburg Leisure Centre Coburg Olympic Swimming Pool Oak Park Sports and Aquatic Centre.
