We offer self-collection for cervical screening, allowing you to collect your own sample in a private space at our clinic, such as the bathroom.

This method is convenient, easy to use, and reliable for detecting HPV, which can lead to cervical cancer. Regular screening is crucial for early detection and prevention.

Heart Week is Australia’s National heart health awareness week held in May each year. It provides an opportunity for the Australian public and health professionals to start a conversation about heart health and take positive steps to reduce their heart disease risk.
At the heart of this initiative lies the Heart Health Check, a 20-minute appointment facilitated by our compassionate clinical team.

This check-up serves as a valuable tool, offering insights into one's likelihood of experiencing a heart attack or stroke within the next five years, alongside strategies to mitigate these risks.

Who should partake in this assessment?
• Individuals aged 45–79 years.
• Individuals with diabetes from 35 years
• First Nations individuals from 30 years

With over 30 years of experience in audiology, Caron brings a wealth of expertise and passion to our clinic. Having obtained qualifications in South Africa before immigrating to Australia in 1998, and a personal understanding of hearing loss, she is dedicated to delivering exceptional care to the community.

Osteoporosis is a medical condition where your bone density decreases and you are at an increased risk of fracture. Some of these fractures can have a devastating impact on your quality of life.

The Bone Bus, a specialist bone density scanning service, will be at Dr. Dan's Medical Clinic on the 15th and 16th of April 2024.

This service is bulk billed with no gap if you meet the eligibility criteria. Or you are over 70.

If you have had a bone density scan elsewhere within the last 12 months, you do not need a scan now.

To book your scan, follow these two steps:

Make an appointment with our doctors to check your eligibility & obtain a referral for the scan.

After receiving your doctor’s referral, call or book online with The Bone Bus to reserve an appointment time for your scan.

Thanks to the great bloke who helped me jump start our generator this morning.

Thanks to the generous man who offered his generator while we were jump starting, Cog Bikes Australia for offering help if needed and the good man who came at lunchtime offering to get petrol for us.

It reminds me of why I love working with all of our patients, even when Mother Nature gives us a curve ball.

I’m so glad I made the transition from hospital based medicine and teaching at Monash University in 2009.

My beautiful wife and I were expecting our firstborn at the time and we thought General Practice would give us the balance, I’m so glad I made the transition.

Dr Kalen is very excited to be returning to our clinic after taking some time off to spend with her new family. Dr Kalen is thrilled to be co-supervising our new registrars Dr Browne and Dr Caddle. Dr Kalen covers all general practice services with special interests in women’s health; completing a Certificate of Women’s Health in 2022 to further extend her knowledge base. Dr Winters also has a keen interest in sexual health and mental health, in particular children and youth mental health. She is an approachable, pleasant, and highly skilled female practitioner who is happy to welcome new and existing patients.

Dr. James Caddle completed his medical degree at the University of Melbourne in 2017 and worked in a number of areas of hospital-based medicine in Echuca, Bendigo, Monash Health, and Eastern Health before moving into General Practice. James enjoys all aspects of general practice and has a special interest in Paediatrics. Outside of work, James likes hiking and camping, playing guitar, and looking after his one-year-old daughter.

Dr Clare Browne originally from Tasmania, Clare graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2018. With diverse experience in various medical disciplines, she started GP training in 2023. Dr. Clare Browne is passionate about Aged Care, Palliative Care, and Chronic Disease Management. She completed the Sydney Child Health Program in 2022 and looks forward to continuing her GP training at Dr. Dan's in Monbulk in 2024.

Outside of work, Clare enjoys hiking, playing squash, baking, and spending time with family and friends.
