❤️🖤

I cannot add in any more after this time tomorrow as rhe caterer must have the set numbers. Names will be ticked off at the door.
Friendly reminder as we enter the exciting, and sometime stressful part of the season - finals.
The Badin Netballers show respect and sportsmanship to each other, our coaches, our opposition and to the officials.
DID YOU KNOW
In Netball the ball has to be passed at least every three seconds. This results in the ball being passed (at an absolute minimum) 1,200 times a match.
Every time a player catches the ball, an umpire has to check seven things involving the player with the ball and their opponent (footwork, contact, obstruction, offside etc.).
Almost simultaneously, the umpire has to look down the court and check other players are in their correct areas and are not blocking each other in their attempts to move. This could involve scanning 10 different players, while keeping one eye on the player with the ball and their opponent.
So that’s seven things, involving the player with the ball, plus potentially another 10 players to watch, each with three actions involved (contact, obstruction and offside).
That’s 38 different actions to watch for per pass, including the held ball rule. 38 times by 1,200 passes equals 45,600 decisions our umpires make per match. Even if that figure is split between the two umpires, that’s still 22,800 decisions each.
22,800 decisions a match! And that’s assuming players take the maximum three seconds to pass the ball.
We, as a community, need to respect our umpires! NO UMPIRED, NO GAME!
So next time you go to yell towards an umpire or verbally disagree with their decisions, have a think of this and think about it if you were in their shoes!
18 Bobcats
And we did it , we are in the Grand Final. Very proud of all these girls, they haved played all season with integrity and sportsmanship and earned their spot. It would be great to hear loud cheering for them in 2 weeks.
Presidents note~The Bobcats are of to the big dance so let's rally and support our Basin girls in two weeks. A sea of red and black to support them would be terrific❤️🖤. And it will be indoors so save the date!
SEMI FINALS 💚💛
As we approach finals please remember:
Cheer on the players
Respect the umpires
Support the coach
NETBALL IS FUN!

13 Ladybirds
I know l say it every week but l am SO incredibly proud of these girls. They have improved immensely from the beginning of the season, not just in their skills but in the friendship and support of each other on the court. What more could a proud coach want😘. Even a gentleman from the opposition complimented the girls on their improvement and sportsmanship. The Ladybirds are a team to watch! I look forward to celebrating the season at Presentation night🖤❤️

18 Bobcats
Great game today in the cold and soggy weather. The game was a fast pace considering the conditions, everybody played a great game and worked the ball hard from each end . One more game then finals 😀 Award goes to Ashlee who was all over the court in many different positions ❤️🖤
Presidents note- Bobcats you look terrific in the Indigenous dresses
15 Leopards
The girls unfortunately lost their game 14 to 31 but did their best in such cold , wet weather. The court was very slippery so made for a slower game to be safe and a slippery ball.
Held their ground in the first half then the other team crept away with good goal shooting and less errors.
Great effort leopards!!
Cancelled 11.20 time slot, except for indoor games
10.00 game is cancelled due to the rain.
At this point it is the only cancellation
Some wet weather information from the Saturday Convenor ~
Please note the following:
With the weather being so unreliable at the moment and to avoid confusion regarding games being played inside and outside during the last two rounds please be advised If games are cancelled outside any whole sections playing indoors can continue to play. The only exception would be if the whole day is cancelled. Any games must be completed to get 4 points as per the ByLaws/Rules.
I appreciate that indoor games were cancelled previously but need to ensure that there is no confusion in the future. Umpires who are allocated to these indoor games will be required to stay and officiate.
Please also remember that any players not on the umpire voting slip (scoresheet) will need to register at the office. This includes borrowed players.

KEEP THE DATE FREE
TUESDAY AUGUST 13TH 2024
We have taken on board the lots of advice and preferences for a Presentation Night for The Basin Netballers and Tuesday was suggested so we didn't clash with football and football finals.
And we love Eastwood Golf Club as our venue, adult tickets have been reduced, and the club will pick up the difference, as we have tried to make the tickets as affordable as possible. And it's GREAT value for the price❤️🖤
So here it is our Presentation Night information and the link to book your seats.
https://www.trybooking.com/CTORE
It's all happening this time of year for netball- and its all so exciting✨️. Where to begin...
In order to be able to make our Presentation Night affordable for all our families we need to bolster our fundraising.
An amazing effort by some families with our cookie dough fundraiser but who can resist a Cadbury fundraiser. Let's all make a concerted effort so we can keep our Presentation Night tickets as reasonable as possible because then it follows that we can also keep Spring fees at a minimum also.
See you all on Tuesday at training and don't forget to collect your box of chocolate
