It’s not too late to make your Yorkshire Christmas Pie….all you need is a turkey, goose, fowl, partridge, and a pigeon, a large amount of spice and seasoning and 1.8kg butter….oh and a goodly amount of hot water crust pastry. …Books for Cooks opened in Wattletree Rd, Melbourne in 1985 and for many years was run by Margit & Pearl as a part-time labour of love.
In 2000, Tim & Amanda realised a long held dream and bought a tiny bookshop about wine and food and moved it to Gertrude St Fitzroy. In 2015 having run out of room... Books for Cooks moved to the Queen Victoria Markets.

For us, avid food lovers, cooks and cookbook collectors for years, owing a cookbook shop has been a long cherished dream. Cookbooks clutter our house and dining table and if we are not reading one, we are usually cooking from another.
