New release stacks, that actually could’ve been three times as tall. WE HAVE SO MANY NEW BOOKS!!!
Open Friday 10-3 for book buying and talking. You can try and talk footy with me, but the AFL Grand Final coincides with the biggest month in publishing, so good luck.
We are lacking in dangerous cliffs in Williamstown, so here is a precarious book placement.
The Ledge is new from the master of the twist, Christian White and according to Michael Rowland on ABC News Breakfast this morning, it’s his best yet!
Today is the perfect day for a clever crime read 🌧️🌧️
Don’t miss out on the new Sally Rooney!
The latest Jamie Oliver is in!
So far so atmospheric. I’m really enjoying this haunting tale of two siblings on the hunt for an elusive killer puma in Tasmania. It’s moody, lyrical and thrilling. Pre-order on our website now (available 8th of October)
It’s finally here!!
I’ve finally had a chance to sit down with the new Ottolenghi cookbook and have a proper look…. And it’s so good! Lots of classic comfort food dishes with that Ottolenghi/Helen Goh twist. Highly recommend 🧑🍳 available in store or on our website now.
Which section are you flicking straight to? It’s the nails isn’t it. 💅🏽
2025 edition in store now!!
Getting cosy in my reading chair with the NEW Elizabeth Strout!
Everyone we know and love comes together in Tell Me Everything, Bob Burgess, Lucy Barton and Olive Kitteridge have all developed lovely friendships and it’s these relationships that keep each other afloat. As you will have come to expect, this is exquisite storytelling 👌🏻
Shaun Micallef’s been busy this year and the first of a few books coming before Christmas is the brilliant Too Scared To Sleep. A fun (if a wee bit spooky) little story about imaginations running away with you. There’s lovely, sometimes surprising rhyming that parents will get a kick out of, and gloriously detailed illustrations. You won’t mind a bit reading this one over and over.
Shop favourite Jock Serong came for a visit this morning. We had a lovely chat and he signed copies of his stunning new novel Cherrywood.
This is what Trent Dalton has to say about it:
‘As magical as it is mesmerising. Every chapter presents the reader with another storytelling treasure more narratively wondrous than the last. Serong’s wild imagination is a gift that keeps on giving.’
But you don’t have to take his word for it, get yourself a copy and dive into one of the most sublime novels this year!
Come and get it!
Whether your dad likes history, mystery, cooking, drinking, sport, politics, nature or puzzling, we have plenty of Father’s Day books to choose from. And if you’re not sure, we can help! We also have a great range of cards for dad too 🧍♂️
It’s always an exciting week when a new Jodi Picoult arrives!

‘What if the greatest writer of all time isn’t who we think he is?
In 1581, Emilia Bassano is allowed no voice of her own. But as the Lord Chamberlain’s mistress she has access to the theatre and finds a way to bring her work to the stage secretly. But creating some of the world’s greatest dramatic masterpieces comes at a cost: by paying a man for the use of his name, she will write her own out of history. His name? William Shakespeare.
In present day Manhattan, playwright Melina Green has written a new work inspired by the life of her Elizabethan ancestor Emilia Bassano. Although the challenges are different four hundred years later, the playing field is still not level for women in theatre. Is Melina—like Emilia—willing to forfeit her credit as author, to see her work performed?’
Father’s Day is on the 1st of September this year, don’t let it sneak up on you! We have heaps of great book ideas for your dad, come in and take a look 🤓

Second slide is a selection of new non-fiction. There’s lots here for Father’s Day, special mention of The Immortals of Australian Football 🏉
