The theme for this year is βFinding Freedomβ, with a focus on families β parents, relatives, and chosen families that give support and and a sense of belonging to refugees.
Here's a family photo of Ana Paula's, a staff member who herself is a grandchild of refugees. She shares what freedom and family mean to her:

Today we had an amazing staff lunch at our Coburg campus to celebrate the Sri Lankan New Year, which was a month ago! π₯³ We enjoyed some fun games like "Pass the Hat Round," "Blinded Yoghurt Feeding" in pairs, and "Pass the Water Balloons." The laughter and camaraderie were fantastic! π©ππ¦
The highlight was the delicious spread of traditional foods, including freshly made hoppers and a variety of sweets that left everyone satisfied. π₯π²π¬

VICSEG sends heartfelt wishes to our community for a delightful Orthodox Easter celebration yesterday. The image pictured is the traditional Egg-tapping or Egg-cracking game.
In this game, the participant who manages to crack both ends of their opponent's egg is declared the winner and, according to tradition, is believed to receive good luck throughout the year.
This week, festivities for Eid were held at our Craigieburn and Coburg campuses, bringing together our staff and students. Our diverse staff prepared a range of delicious dishes representing various cultures, including Somali, Indian, Pakistani, Iranian, Lebanese, and more. Thank you to all our staff for organising this beautiful event and to everyone who joined in the celebrations.
On Anzac Day we remember all Australians and New Zealanders who served and died in war. We honour the contribution and suffering of all those who have served and hope for a world without war, where all people can live in peace and security.

This week at our Craigieburn campus, trainers Amrita and Sundus hosted celebrations for Eid, Sri Lankan New Year, and Easter, creating a memorable experience for all students. Take a look at the festivities captured in these photos.
Students in Chi's Individual Support class put together a delicious Vietnamese lunch for their first simulation class in our Coburg campus today. Alongside this, they practised filling out incident reports, engaged in role-playing and delved into learning about diverse communities.

VICSEG is a non-government organization that pioneers innovative and effective programs for recently arrived migrant and refugee families and their children.
New Futures Training is a registered training organisation that specializes in Certificate III and Diplomas in Aged Care and Childcare and caters to migrant communities, asylum seekers & refugees.
VICSEG New Futures is a not-for-profit Learn Local Provider established to serve the needs of local communities. We deliver both pre-accredited and accredited training.
Pre-accredited programs are short modular courses designed for learners to gain confidence and skills. They focus on creating pathways to further education and training or a step to employment.
