And they're off!
The 18 enthusiastic participants of our inaugural Youth Camp departed yesterday! Over the course of the 10-day program, they will engage in a diverse array of activities, including interactive workshops, cultural excursions, and heritage-focused projects. The camp, running from September 23 to October 1, is an initiative by the GCM and the Prefecture of Attiki.

We are deeply touched to have received a heartfelt card from the Good Friday Appeal recognizing the generous donation made by our Holy Trinity Church, Footscray, Melbourne, Victoria. A big thank you to the dedicated members of the Holy Trinity Footscray Philoptochos, who, in collaboration with the Greek Community of Melbourne and Victoria (GCM), raised a significant amount in support of the Royal Children’s Hospital – Good Friday Appeal. Together, we continue to make a difference and give back to those in need.

On Wednesday evening, the Greek Community of Melbourne (GCM) welcomed 18 enthusiastic participants from their inaugural Youth Camp to The Greek Centre for a final briefing. The camp, which will run from 23 September to 01 October, is an initiative of the GCM and the Prefecture of Attiki. It has been designed to offer a comprehensive exploration of Greek culture, history, and heritage.

In the first official meeting between Greek Community of Melbourne President Bill Papastergiadis OAM and Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan, the genuinely warm and welcoming atmosphere suggested this would be just one of many meetings to come.

The 2024 Greek Film Festival is set to captivate audiences with a vibrant selection of films and documentaries that celebrate Greek culture through cinema.
