SJOS 2024 Newsletter Winter Edition
To all our supporters & friends...
Our latest newsletter is now available via our website newsletter page, the link is at the bottom of this post.
Highlights:
Although the outreach services provided by SJOS continued throughout the winter months, it was not without challenges. The supply of left over bread from the Baker’s Delight Prahran Central stopped when the franchise sadly closed and Woolworths 670 Chapel Street seemed to be constantly hampered with limited bakers. There were many days when the bread freezers were empty. We have now started an arrangement with Baker’s Delight Hawksburn and some smaller bakeries are also assisting. With limited supplies of eggs also restricting what we can give, it is very difficult for those who are trying to make ends meet.

SJOS 2024 Newsletter Autumn Edition
To all our supporters & friends...
Our latest newsletter is now available via our website newsletter page, the link is at the bottom of this post.
Highlights:
The season of Autumn has seen increased numbers visiting the Food Store and using the Bread Bank. The volunteers are continuing to work diligently to support the needs of those attending for emergency food relief. While the availability of food products has improved and we seem to be able to stock most of the items requested, the supply of bread from the various local bakeries and supermarkets has not been as plentiful. The Bread Bank is often empty, as we just cannot keep up with demand. The SJOS Board will be reviewing the challenge to hopefully source a solution.
